It was nice seeing the defence play well in the 4th quarter. They had been fading badly in the 4th.

Hoping to be half the man Tom Landry was.

We also weren't trying to cling on to a 3 point lead or play from behind either. It makes all of the difference when the D knows that if something happened that Romo could lead a game winning drive vs knowing it's likely to be a 3 and out. They can take more chances.

I think the point Reality is making is when the game was in question (the first 58 minutes or so), there was very little pass rush.

But the defense got a turnover and scored a TD on it. Sacks isn't every thing if we are stopping teams. With them scoring is even better. Defense did what they should be doing. With Miami starting at mid field almost every job I can only commend the job they did

Like @Reality said, those sack numbers are misleading. This DL has been a huge letdown and this game did nothing to change that. They are on pace for 30 sacks this season. That is not acceptable for the amount of resources dedicated to the unit the last few years.

Not trying to kill the enthusiasm, but two of those sacks were on the last drive when there was around 1 minute left and the game was over.

Hey, everyone always wants the "game ending" sacks to "finish out."

But watch - if we don't do it this week people will say "WE NEVER GET SACKS WHEN THE GAME NEEDS TO BE CLOSED OUT."

Points allowed is literally the only stat that matters.

Sacks, schmacks. Sacks are nice but very misleading, especially if you're playing against a veteran who is smart enough to throw the ball away. I think QB pressures are more revealing. I'm sure they would tell the same story in this case. And I'm sure they're going to skyrocket now that Romo is back (and Gregory continues to get healthier, etc.)

They've underperformed and anyone saying otherwise is making more excuses. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that being in such close games and other teams not fearing the offense was the problem. It's clear that is not the case. Look at what sort of havoc the Dolphins DL caused on Sunday. Thats what a good DL looks like. That is not what the Cowboys DL looks like at all. If anyone here on this board would have been told in the offseason that the team would have only 19 sacks after 10 games people would have laughed. It's time to stop making excuses for them and for the group to get the job done.

Oh, I don't disagree. Just pointing out that sack totals can be misleading -- a defensive front can have a very good day pressuring a QB without a lot of sacks to show for it. Yes, our defensive front has been lacking so far. We'll see where it goes from here.

I agree, especially with a small sample size. 10 games is becoming pretty large though. It really doesn't seem like a talent issue so I don't know what is going on. I expect some improvement with more points being required fromthe offense on opposing teams. It's just been a bit of a let down so far. I was expecting 45-50 sacks and super pumped about this group which probably is affecting my assessment. Hardy came out like a man possessed, but has looked a little out of it since the photos "leaked". Oh well, sorry for the mini rant.

We had a nice lead in the 4 th quarter. The D was rested and was able to pin their ears back some. Typically they are not in that position.

Also, Romo half pushed the Dow and 40 Industrials to all-time highs.

I smell a Super Bowl.
