KJJ;3757062 said:You have apologized for the play of Newman using excuses and packing around with other Newman apologists following their lead.
You've made your way into several of these Newman threads that keep popping every week because he keeps getting beat.
You then claim that everyone who's knocking his play doesn't know what they're looking at when it comes to our CB's play. LOL
It's pretty easy to see when a CB gets beat the announcers doing the game don't have any trouble seeing it because they point it out. LOL
You claim that Newman has played well this season but admit that he's been repeatedly beaten. LOL
Here's a comment from Jobberone who you're playing follow the leader with "The problem here is not having someone to take his place. He shouldn't be trying to play CB. It's quite obvious he can't keep up. The reason they put a substandard player on the field is because he's still the best person for the job. That's a sad fact. We didn't keep enough decent CBs on the team this year. The position was badly played.
Here he is throwing Newman under the bus but claims I'm a troll who's not in my right mind for criticizing him.:laugh2:
He's actually being more critical than I've been because I don't think Newman shouldn't be playing the position at all.
Some of you say one thing about Newman attempting to defend him you then turn around and agree he's been getting beat far too often. I don't see how a CB who's been getting beat far too often can be playing well.
Newman wasn't targeted by the Eagles because he's been playing well this season. It only takes a little common sense to figure out why a team enters a game targeting a particular player.
Our secondary is getting beat far too often that's why our defense is giving up a franchise record number of points.

jobberone;3757209 said:You're wrong to criticize the play of an injured player who is only on the field because there is no one to competently replace him. There is a huge difference in a player who lacks the talent to play his position and one who is underperforming because he's injured.
jobberone;3757209 said:I've not once criticized you for saying Newman's play has been subpar.
Idgit;3757288 said:Dude. What are you talking about?
Idgit;3757288 said:There's not a single thing in this post that's accurate until you get to the last sentence.
Idgit;3757288 said:In particular, I'm not claiming that everyone who knocks his play doesn't know what they're looking at. I'm claiming you don't know what you're looking at, or talking about.
Idgit;3757288 said:Also, you're not able to follow the thread of an argument, your reading comprehension is pathetic, which makes debating with you completely non-productive.
Idgit;3757288 said:It's not possible to build a chain of reasoning with you because you flail around the topic misinterpreting things and making things up like a hyperactive toddler playing with a turd he found in a Chuck-e-Cheese ball hut. It's disorienting and messy and not as much fun as it sounds like it's going to be.
Idgit;3757288 said:I'm not on jobberone's side in this issue. I don't think there's any excuses for playing hurt. I only chimed back in to reinforce that your reading comprehension is atrocious to encourage you to be more thorough in the future. Despite that fact that there's zero chance that happens.
ninja;3757195 said:You're pathetic with that injury excuse. I hope he didn't further injure himself when he speared that dude laying on the ground![]()

What does Ohio State resemble when they face the SEC?
Got to love that win Peyton Manning hung on your "All Star" team...
Now, that is "Toast".
P.S.
Are you a Bobby Carpenter fan?
KJJ;3757301 said:Try having someone who's clued up explain it to you in layman terms. :toast:
....blah, blah, blah...
Start a poll and see how many support your position that he's played well this season and oppose mine that he hasn't and is in decline. :toast:
PBJTime;3757324 said:Your whole argument is one big argumentum ad populum. You wonder why people argue with you? It's because your arguments are flimsy, at best. That, and many of your comments are pretty inflammatory.
CCBoy;3757303 said:Pathetic, some type insightful strength presupposed or something, huh? I was in a Karate Tournament conducted in Korea. I had my top lip split wide open during a match. The rule of play there, is that you have to continue fighting through the injury...and if not, you were disqualified, even if a foul was committed upon yourself. That, although, doesn't describe the mental aspect of forcing one's conduct and physical play through the threshhold of pain to be competitive.
Cas was respecting the guts of the player as well as his play, DESPITE, his injury...which is a valued aspect with sportsmanship.
Hardly a comment deserving of your comment...pathetic.
Your descriptive adjective more applicable to your own comment, instead.![]()
KJJ;3757295 said:I've already told you I have no trouble with comprehension you just keep making excuses.
You say one thing and then you say another. I'm not taking anything you said out of context you called Newman a "substandard" player.
Why did you use that word because he hurt his ribs back in Oct and his ankle back in Nov? He played the following week after each one of those injuries they weren't serious. LOL Injuries that happened weeks ago aren't preventing him from playing or running full speed or caused him to get beat last week. If Ware has a tweak does that reduce him to a "substandard" player?
Are you telling me that everytime Newman gets beat it's because of an injury? Desean Jackson was noticeably limping on an injured foot and still ran 91 yards for a TD.
I haven't heard one coach or anyone who closely follows the Cowboys say Newman is so injured he shouldn't be playing.
Did Newman's rib injury he suffered in Oct prevent him from jumping up and extending his arms to pick off Grossman on Washington's final drive Sunday?
Not once have I seen Newman show any signs of discomfort on the field. If he was as injured as some of you make it sound he wouldn't be out there because our season was over weeks ago.
If he was as injured as some of you would like to believe he wouldn't have started every game this season. If he was so injured he shouldn't be playing he wouldn't be playing and Scandrick who's play is improving or McCann would be taking his place.
No one but you Newman apologists are blaming his declining play on injury. The injury excuse is just that an EXCUSE!
Yeah Newman is really hobbling around out there poor guy.If there's a huge difference in a player who lacks the talent to play his position and one who's underperforming because he's injured than how come you referred to Newman as a "substandard" player?
If a player has a slight injury that isn't preventing them from playing or running at full speed you don't refer to them as a "substandard" player.
Newman has become a substandard player because his skills are eroding. He'll be 33 at the start of next season and doesn't have the speed he once had. He can't cover speed receivers and it has NOTHING to do with injury.
Like all the Newman apologists you're blaming his subpar play on injury. In a previous post you blamed his play on a bad wheel. He suffered that ankle injury Nov 14th against the Giants and it wasn't the dreaded high ankle sprain.
It's been 5 weeks since he hurt that ankle and it never caused him to miss a game.. Other Newman apologists point to his rib injury as an excuse and that injury occurred Oct 26th. LOL
Dez played on 2 bad ankles one a high ankle sprain he hurt in camp and tweaked during the season. He ended up hurting the other ankle and still returned a punt for a TD the following week on 2 bad wheels.
He was more injured than Newman this season and none of his injuries kept him from playing at a high level. Are you going to deny that some of Newman's subpar play isn't a result of him declining as a player?

jobberone;3757367 said:Here's just one example of your poor reading comprehension. I didn't say Newman was a substandard player. I said his play this year is substandard for him. Spin and distort is the name of your game.
jobberone;3757367 said:You have a poor understanding of the game.
jobberone;3757367 said:It's quite obvious Newman is not turning and running well just to mention one aspect of his game. If you can't understand how bruised ribs which takes weeks to heal and a bad ankle could create a problem for a professional athlete especially a CB, then you aren't worth debating with.
jobberone;3757367 said:I've treated dozens of patients with injuries to the chest wall. Many have trouble merely walking around and sleeping much less trying to play professional football. jobberone;3757367 said:In fact I feel foolish for wasting my time trying to talk with you. You're so far out in left field on this you can't begin to comprehend the other side of this argument.
