Terence Newman

Newman is, as I've told you all along, our best CB. He proved that again last night again with blanket coverage and his usual good open field tackling. If you can't admit that, there's no wonder you don't see what a solid player he really is.

Newman being our best CB this year isn't saying much.. anyone who watches the games knows he had a poor season. Played pretty well last night though.

More importantly though.. 238 replies to this topic? Really? :p:

Who's stalking who here? I'm done with the Newman argument (have been), but I'm not done letting you know how foolish you look. See the difference there? Of course you don't.

You're the one who will take two small paragraphs of mine and go point by point for half a page, droning on about nothing. I'd say that's the more pathological behavior here.

Yeah. It's tough to defend anyone on a franchise-worst unit. But that point was granted at the very beginning of this stupid thread. Newman is far from the issue with this team, though. And he played a great game last night, again.

Yes. That's what I'm saying. You're clueless on this topic. Clueless.

Look at the posters agreeing with you. Look at the quality of posters telling you youre dead wrong. That tells you all you need to know about this game of Idiots Poker.

They'll never get it, Idg. They're the same guys that were probably in the "release Emmitt and start Hambrick" crowd back in the day.

Only in Dallas, where mega contracts grow on trees, could a guy as putrid as Newman stick around so long. unbelievable that some people would STILL defend him after the years of suckage from him.

I have at least two posters arguing with me that agree Newman hasn't played well this season. Most of the board agrees with me that he's been subpar this season better open your eyes. LOL

Another poster realtick just entered the thread to take a shot at me because he still has an ax to grind from a debate we had a few weeks ago where he came off looking foolish and he even says Newman hasn't played well this season.

You've been in all these Newman threads and have been thrashed by a number of fans who don't agree with you. Would you like me to post the links? :D

Even the few who are arguing with me don't agree with you that Newman has played well this season they just like arguing with me for the sake of arguing. LOL

As for last night I just said Newman played well going up against a bad team with a rookie QB. Did Newman look injured last night or is he finally all healed now?

There's been no signs of an injury with him but everytime he has a bad game you apologist use injury as an excuse. Go find something that claims he's injured so you'll have some legs to stand on next week if he gets toasted by the Desean Jackson again.

You're stalking me all anyone has to do is go back and see that you came looking for me. Dude you stuck your nose in this and got it bloodied. LOL I've never even noticed you on this board until you came looking for me a few days ago to take shots.

You been saying for 4 days that you're done with this argument but that hasn't stopped you from responding back.

You even said you'd give me the last word but you continue trying to get a parting shot in. I can assure you the only way you're going to get the last word in is if they lock the thread after your next response. LOL

You're argument has been so weak I've been able to take small paragraph after small paragraph and shoot holes in everyone of them.

You haven't been able to even graze a single paragraph of mine so you've resorted to firing insults. All you're doing is making yourself look even more weak. It's just more sour grapes from a guy who's been made a fool of. :toast:

This message is hidden because KJJ is on your ignore list.
I don't know why I hadn't thought of this earlier. Perhaps it's because this is the ultimate last resort for me. Congrats, you are the second person in over five years who's made this list! I can handle ignorance to a point. But, you are in that special, fantastically annoying segment.

You have dragged me down to your level long enough. I consider myself to be a better poster than this. When my posting degrades to your level, then I know it is time to move along.

Go ahead and get your last word in. I won't read it. I haven't read any of these two posts, and I already feel like I've recovered some lost IQ points because of it!

You ignored him and didn't even see his last post, yet you felt the need to respond to it. Sounds like you are the one who feels the need to get the last word in.. or maybe its both of you since this thread has gone on for almost 250 responses.

I didn't respond to the post, as I have no idea what's in it. I did want to let him know how "special" he is though. Believe me, there is definitely two sides to this exchange. He can get whatever word he wants in last.

I was just giving you a hard time. :D

It still amazes me that the thread went on this long.

Newman is the best corner weve had since drafting him but this isnt saying a whole lot.
He has had more downs then ups and is nowhere close to being a shutdown corner.

OK give me your order of need for this team.

My list is long and Newman's not on it.

Does he now or has he ever lived up to his draft status? No
Does he deserve what he's paid? No

Would the Cowboys benefit from his out right release come Feb? IDK for certain. I'd have to know the cap ramifications.

You tell me his scheduled to make 8-9 mil in 2011 and we could save all that money with his release. Well then I'd probably pack for him. And I like the guy as a player. Not great, but absolutely servicable at a critical position.

Just not worth 8-9 mil.

Problem is, this is probably not the last year of his deal. And his release may create as large a cap hit as keeping him. Then the only benefit would be cap $ in 2012 and yet another hole to fill in 2011.

I'll respond regardless if you can't read it. You probably have another ID you log on with so you can read my posts and pretend you're ignoring me. :laugh2:

Adding someone to an ignore list who you pursued simply to argue with for the sake of arguing and to insult is a cowards way out. Face it you were looking bad and this was a way out.

I'm flattered that I'm only the second person you've added to your ignore list. :flex:

I'm sure you came looking to attack the other poster until you found out like you did with me that you bit off more than you could chew.

You're ignoring me because I was hitting home and it was starting to hurt. Dude, the reality is you never came UP to my level you preferred tossing insults rather than debate the issues.

Number one would be a playmaking safety to replace Ball. In my opinion going from Hamlin who was bad to Ball who's been worse is the number one reason our secondary has struggled this season. No one in our secondary has looked as lost as Ball.

Number two would be fixing the OL.

Number three would be adding someone disruptive on the DL and adding an another corner.

Number four would be adding a good coverage LB.

The sad thing is, he thinks he is schooling people here. It wreaks to me of an immature kid who is a fairly smart individual, but is simply naive and ignorant.

That's exactly what I've picked up in the past with him. I'm sure he's a pimple-faced teenager who has no taste for intellectual honesty at this point in his life.

Like I've said in the past, the second he invoked the "a lot of people have said...I'm not the only one that thinks that..." form of evidence, I knew what I was dealing with and ended all discussions with him.

The best way to help get me out of your head is to follow his lead and put me on ignore.

Despite the game clinching play at the end, is anyone else disappointed in Newman's play this year? He seems to get beat systematically over and over, even by avg. receivers, not to mention being seemingly fragile as hell. I don't see the same speed or break on the ball that I've seen in the past. Safety is a huge need but can we go into 2011 with Newman as a starter? I'm starting to think not. Please discuss

so even when he has a good game we ignore it and go back to his bad ones?

wow.

It almost feels like playing a game of poker with someone who doesn't know the rules of the game. You then try to explain the rules to the person, but they refuse to acknowledge that your full house beats their pair of 2's. They simply lay their cards down and incessantly yell, "I win!" You simply can't play the game because the person refuses to follow or learn the rules of the game. Then, as you walk out the door in disgust, the person tells you how much he schooled you in the game of poker. It's comical in one aspect, but totally annoying in another.

The ignore list is a fantastic thing!

You have me on ignore and you're still blowing off steam over me. :laugh2: This all started with you huffing and puffing claiming my argument was flimsy but not once did you ever try shooting holes in it. You then ended up agreeing with me that Newman's play has been subpar this season. LOL
