Terence Steele at RT again

No, he’s the worst player in the NFL. He doesn’t belong in the league.
Every other franchise would have released him by now, except our asinine ownership.
I'm guessing you really dont keep up with the rest of the league then....Arizona signed Jonah Williams last offseason to a $15M per year deal. Hes probably about as close to a Steele comp as you'll find in terms of on field play and injury history. Steele is a lower level starter, but hes still a starting caliber player in this league and would have value on the open market.

It's nice that you think that you're a GM or any kind of professional scout of players ,

he's actually played better towards the end of the year, like trying to get his injury in the rearview mirror, get his confidence back and all that..

But let me explain to you some football he got paid because he was playing really well his injury has made that look in hindsight when you can come on to a forum and be an amateur given your opinion, you'd realize that Jerry couldn't have seen the injury coming he got paid for his potential... Guys get paid because they have contract years and then the front office hopes that they can continue doing it they can't see a major injury coming and how well they're going to come back from it ,it happens.

So, you really can't blame the front office for paying him because he was playing well when they paid him.. But from what I've seen he started showing flashes especially in the run game getting better in the past game to his old self and I think they're going to try to give him a last shot at it the new coaching staff new offensive lineman new scheme..
this is not the same as last year,
lots of change especially the fact that you say the offensive line played bad now the offensive line played bad the first 9 games of the year but once they got Martin out of there inserted Hoffman tried to solidify the left tackle spot and it kept getting injured they played a lot better the run game improved a lot the defense played really bad the first nine games of the year as well and then when they started getting bodies back and started figuring out what they needed to do they played really well down the stretch but it was too little too late but don't act like they didn't play better the end of the season than they did to start the season..

But what I can't believe is fans still think they know more than the GM oh my God we didn't go out and overpay a right tackle or left tackle well tell me every one of those that went in free agency that were available and why they were available and that you're guaranteeing the money paid to them is going to pay off..

I think their plan is to move Guyton over there, if Guyton doesn't win the spot in training camp they're going to work that over and maybe we do have a right tackle and he's going to be moved over there then we got to figure out left tackle but show me the list of all these high end tackles that we were supposed to replace the guys we had with...
and after you hate on another poster you do exactly what you burned him for

Supposedly, Riley's dilemma is getting the 2 best tackles out of Steele, Guyton and Richards.

If Steele genuinely wins his spot at RT that would leave Richards and Guyton competing for the LT spot.

Then I am of that minority which says take the best tackle on the team who's been playing guard and put him at LT. That's Tyler Smith.

This is why Riley gets the big bucks.
Hopefully he will improve the line by putting the best player in the best position for team success and scheme.
In Riley we trust.

OR draft another left tackle, lol.

I can't believe we are going to be paying him $18,125,000 for being one of the worst RT's in the NFL. Dude really had 1 good year (contract year) and Jerry Jones overpaid for him. With how bad our offensive line was last year I am very surprised we didn't attempt to address that in FA.
The Human Turnstile.....
:muttley:

He’s the 11th highest cap hit amongst right tackles but his AAV over the course of the deal is much lower. Plus, the team has an out after this season.

If he plays well, they can keep him all the way through 2028 at what will be a pretty reasonable price by then.

They’ve made worse deals to be sure.

I feel better about Steele than I do a number of other positions so it’s not what I consider a burning issue that we need to draft for.

I don't see the Steele being around as a big thing to be bothered by, I mean, do you want Waletzko at RT? Ok, Asim at RT?

Don't say you want to draft someone on the line when the offensive skill positions just have to be stocked. Steele will be fine imho, he's 2 years removed from injury and going into a new scheme supposedly being run first.

Losing your qb allows the defense to completely change the way they defend you. Oline play looks pretty good when Mahomes runs around on a broken play and chuck it 40 yards down field.

Yeah but we teams know we are going to pass we either have to always keep a TE in to help Steele because he is slow footed and has the agility of an elephant. Helping him so much kind of hinders our passing game when the TE routes are delayed because we are providing him so much help. I hope he takes a huge leap this year.

I hear ya, my Guy, I guess I just have faith in these new OL Coaches and Steele being healthy.

There is not a world in which we live in that Terrence Steele is a starter except in Dallas, Texas.
Stifle yourself with any future nonsense regarding this player, he is a horrific joke and a detriment to this team.
He has single-handedly lost games for us all by himself.

Honestly i wish he was a june 1st cut but he is decent in the run game. If he has to be kept Id move him inside or make him a the swing. I guess well see who gets picked up at the draft. Waletzko and richards need to probably show something in camp as well. It cant be a glowing endorsement that they cant unseat him regardless of the $$
They have used their limit of 2 June 1st designations for this season. 2nd season of Gallup and 1st season Martins!

He didn’t over pay him, he paid him what he felt he earned, injury and now not playing up to what he’s getting paid is things that happens.
When you get a raise at your job they paid you for the work you did to earn it, now that you got it you can continue to work at that same level, put in more effort banking that you will get another raise or get comfortable and kickback, it is human nature to do one or the other, now the difference is your employer will most likely let you go. Some Teams will do that or replace the player but most times it’s political or the owner will say we’re going to get our money out of the players.
I am not wanting to start a back and forth, I am just saying Jerry paid him what he felt he earned or some would say the agent got it out of him, whatever the case
