I like Collins, but I think Steele has earned the RT spot. I say ride the hot hand as long as possible. I think Collins ought to play LG and Williams should try his hand at center.
I'm agnostic and wondering at this point.
OL is not for a hot hand, so to speak.

It's for the flow and success of the Line.

We know that La'el is top-notch in what he does at that position.
Steele is pretty good.
And the Line knows La'el so let's not get into the Steele is more familiar route.
La'el's insertion would take half a game for the team to get the timing.

I like Steele and I like the fact that his performances gives the team flexibility.

I guess we'll just see where the team goes with La'el.
There are some intriguing things this team could do with him.

I just hope they use him to his fullest extent.

Uh...after one game? Hard to really put mu h stock in one game. Steele has been consistently good. Collins should be at LG.
Dude has been primetime good for a hot minute bro.
I know he's been out, but he was really good before and didn't miss a beat when he's on the plane of competition.

Collins has played LG and has been pretty good there in the past. Conner Williams needs to be replaced. Putting Collins at LG puts our best 5 in the lineup and is also help if we have a backup LT playing.

He was OK at LG.
Leary was better.
I remember.
I hope he's better now.

Your hyperbole is noted.
If you're really being serious...
That's noted too.

Now: let's see what I think.
Let's get some Left Side practice in him and see what he does better in.

OL positions aren't all plug/n/play.

Nsekhe might be outplaying him in practice this week!
What do you do?

Put Collins in there just because?

I know Nsekhe isn't some world-beater, or anything, but what if he's practicing better than La'el throughout the week?
What do you do?

Tough shizznice to ponder.
Is all this under the assumption that the locker room stabbing didn't take place? Or did it?

:lmao:

Whatever. I’m just glad that we found another good player in Steele. The more the merrier.

Bottom line for me, I trust McCarthy, Moore, and Philbin to make the right decision. They have all the info and know what they’re trying to do. If they think it’s best to leave Steele and play Collins at LG, then I’m fine with that. Make Steele the swing guy and start Collins? Well, I’m good with that too.

Between last year and this year, Philbin has proven to be the best OL coach we’ve had since Callahan… and it isn’t close. He’s going to have the OL ballin’ regardless.

So you have a complex reason why it wouldn’t work?
Lol.
Maybe I do.
I've posted several times upon the subject in detail just today.
Feel free to look them up.
I certainly see your way though.

I like simple.

He might just be the most improved player year over year on this team. Great job to him working at it and great job by the coaches. This is how good football teams have depth. Finding players like this who can come in and play at a high level giving you a ton of depth.
