Fans love pedigree.

Steele is playing amazing. He is proving to be a really good right tackle. Why mess with it?

guess who one of the RTs ranked above him is? Hint it’s La’el Collins...

Like they say, the best ability, is availability....if he ain't there, it don't matter where he ranks. But i get it, i think we need him more now on the left side.

I honestly have to believe the RT job now his

Lewan and Johnson are on the downside of careers and Thomas has never played up to how high a draft pick he was. I think the starting tackles the next three games while Smith has this surgical procedure will be Collins on the left protecting the QB’s blind side with Steele holding down the right . Nseke not too bad a vet swing tackle .

Difference being Collins was a 1st rounder prior to his off the field crap. Steele was undrafted. Being #19 is a huge accomplishment for a player people didnt think belonged in the league, let alone starting.

who came in for Tyron Smith?

I didn't watch that closely but that guy looked huge & the few plays I was paying attention, I was shocked at how he was pushing whomever he was blocking around like a rag doll

was that a mirage?

What a find by the scouts…kudos!!!

I thought one of the announcers said during a game that Philbin was the one who wanted him signed. But I could be wrong about that.

This could be a Larry Allen type move for Collins. If he moves over to guard he's still mobile enough to get to the next level and powerful enough to move the pile. If his heads in it he could do really well. Collins and Martin at G, Smith and Steele at T. Looks pretty strong to me.

Collins would be 9.
But I get the #MoveCollins2LG movement.

I don't know if it will work, but I get it.
I'd at this point take a 49 yr old free agent at LG over the most penalized player in football. Collins could play better whilst taking a phone call than Connor at his best. Connor has been an absolute game killer consistently.

Whatever. I’m just glad that we found another good player in Steele. The more the merrier.

Bottom line for me, I trust McCarthy, Moore, and Philbin to make the right decision. They have all the info and know what they’re trying to do. If they think it’s best to leave Steele and play Collins at LG, then I’m fine with that. Make Steele the swing guy and start Collins? Well, I’m good with that too.

Between last year and this year, Philbin has proven to be the best OL coach we’ve had since Callahan… and it isn’t close. He’s going to have the OL ballin’ regardless.

This has to be the best group of assistants and coordinators that Dallas has had in a long time. Both Philbin and Whitt are underrated coordinators and brings a lot to this team.

He came in free agency from Buffalo mid 30’s came fairly inexpensive knows his way around the block Philbin probably did want him.

I’m waiting to see Josh Ball our mid round pick sometime in the future. When drafted was said to have “ 2nd “ round skills but had off the field issues . Obviously Smith not getting any younger and beyond this season who knows with Collins . Ball could be an insurance policy to cash in at some point. Nsheke I believe is a one yr signing . Think tackle is a need in the 2022 draft , yes .

I won't swear to it but I do think La'el will be an upgrade over Williams at LG. We'll see if it holds true or not. Allow him time to prove it.

With Smiths latest ailment Collins may be needed at left tackle. Luckily McGovern was drafted , makes a nice swing guard insurance policy . Probably be starting for # 52 next season .

Maybe but I think the staff may give Smith a cortisone shot and let him play this week. It'd be intriguing to see if La'el can handle it, tho.
