Steele should start till Collins beats him out. Last year Collins was out of shape, then missed the whole year due to bad hip. Steele affords the boys to not rush Collins back into full time duty untill healthy. That might change since Tyrone is out. Can Collins play LT? We shall see, but for now it shouldn't affect Steel who is playing well.

PFF is kind of laughable anyway I am not sure what value I put in using them to compare Steele and Collins.
Yeah, they have Diggs in the 50s and Anthony Brown at 12. That kind of kills their credibility with corners. I will say they have Tyron and Zack rated as two of the top three offensive linemen in the league. I think that is true.

Various:
I'd rather enjoy the 7 OL package then cry endlessly about which 5 start.
Dallas isn't throwing any Chaz Green's out there.
La'el Green earned some tough love.
While you'd like your Pro Bowl RT to be able to slide to LT in case of injury missing 5 weeks of practice makes that a tougher hill to climb.
Dallas has a serious value in Steele and knows it. He makes less than a million each of the next TWO seasons then is an RFA.
If La'el can play LT you worry a lot less about OT's of the future.

collins of course can PLAY LT but we don't know how good he can be there. He is clearly a better RT then Steele.

Brown is playing this year like Byron Jones used to and everyone hates him.
Its rather hilarious.
PFF will forever suck grading CBs because so much of their value is impact not single play performance.
A team avoiding you and shutting down their own WR1 is an A+ performance.

Collins was a LT in college. Steele was a RT in college.
With Tyron missing 3-5 games a year and in his 11th season you better see how they look.

Brown is playing well. Like Byron he should have more interceptions. Brown is a solid team player who signed for a reasonable salary.

Brown has terrible hands, like Jones, but is doing a great job in coverage.
He was very shaky last year but it is a new year and fans are behind.
He's been an unsung hero.
You got him for 2 more seasons on very reasonable money.

who came in for Tyron Smith?

I didn't watch that closely but that guy looked huge & the few plays I was paying attention, I was shocked at how he was pushing whomever he was blocking around like a rag doll

was that a mirage?
A lot of plays where he was pushed right into Rush like he was on skates. He’s been really bad going back to preseason. He did however play a little better at RT in preseason although I’m not sure that’s too significant at this point

Taking everything else out of the picture, the fact that we're getting this level of production from a 2nd year undrafted OT is a major win for the organization. Teams have spent 1st-2nd day picks on OTs that they're afraid to start in some cases.

I’m waiting to see Josh Ball our mid round pick sometime in the future. When drafted was said to have “ 2nd “ round skills but had off the field issues . Obviously Smith not getting any younger and beyond this season who knows with Collins . Ball could be an insurance policy to cash in at some point. Nsheke I believe is a one yr signing . Think tackle is a need in the 2022 draft , yes .

I’m also interested in Ball and thought he might end up our swing tackle this year. I wonder if they just stash him on IR at this point though. I think he will be in our plans.

As far as OT I thought it was a huge need this past draft but taking a fresh look at how things have now developed, I don’t think you have to force it. We still have Smith and Collins. Steele has now clearly stepped up and will be here for a while. If the team thinks (stressing if) Ball also looks like a future starter or ST I don’t think you have to go there at all right now unless someone you love falls to you. But I’m always for drafting OL and DL if you love the player you take.

I can’t see Nsekhe being here next year after how he has looked, so maybe we bring in another inexpensive vet as insurance again or perhaps we like the potential of one of the other young guys to develop.

If Ball proves good enough next season to be the primary swing OT and not being a liability if having to play, the 2021 draft is a homerun. If BossMan Fat is starting as either the 2nd or 3rd CB, the draft is a home run.

If neither happens the draft may still be a home run!!!

Rather have Brown at his salary than Byron at his. And it's not close. That's money better spent elsewhere.

I honestly have to believe the RT job now his

Which is hilarious because he finished last year with a 64.6 grade that ranked him 56th overall against tackles. And is probably a couple points higher because he had a receiving grade of 84.6 in there driving up the average.

He was tied for 10th in penalties last season. Yes he gave up only 2 sacks but pressures and penalties are what he was last year. Collins is a better player than him.

Why do cowboys fans think players are better than what they actually are? Pff grading our o line in the top 10 is hilarious because they havent been close to that type of performance since 2016
