What has happened to professional non bias announcers?

In one drive last night in the first quarter, Buffalo has a good punt that pins Dallas at the 2. Jaws just heaps praise on the guy. Minutes later, McBriar hits a 58 yarder. Not one of the three even muttered a single word. Jaws is punching Cornholer evertime Dallas makes a mistake. He's absolutely giddy that they're losing.

T.O.'s sideline catch? What designates getting nailed by the safety and not having a chance to get the second foot down? Not a word from the three.

T.O. gets text book interferred with on the 2 point conversion. The defender not only has his hands on T.O.'s chest, but faceguards, never even turns to look for the ball. NOT A SINGLE WORD from any of the talking heads in the booth. Just deafening silence, like each one is waiting for the other to say something.

But when T.O. traps the ball with 18 seconds left in regulation, it's "That's not a catch!" Jaworski screams at the first angle they show. Unfortunitely, I live just outside Buffalo so any hope I had of finding an audio of the game that wasn't homers was slim. So I had to deal with it. I'm just glad that it was ther Cowboys only monday night game this year.

Tony K was the best guy in the booth last night IMO. And what does that say about the overall broadcast?

At least Tony said the TO "spike the ball" penalty was a bad call.

Well you must remember Jaworski is an Eagles Homer and he will never give the Cowboys any credit.......He actually picked the Bills to win.........Not to mention he's from Buffalo and probably grew up a Bills fan.......

Admit I'm surprised by Jaws. I understand he's a homer for the Eagles and can easily accepted that. But his touting of Bills QB and lack of objectivity is disturbing. Will all teams who don't have some tie to him going to experience similar fate?

Also what ever happened to Jaws interview of Romo before the game. I was sure he would bring it up some time during the game. Maybe Romo's play distracted Jaws. Oh well.

We Cowboy fans just need to stick together cause we certainly can't count on objectivity from the broadcasters, etc. It's us against them should be our model.

ESPN has ruined MNF...... We'll never see the good ol' days again.

Sad indeed.:(

Ditto. I absolutely hate that crew they have broadcasting the game now. They're terrible. Jaws is the best of the three.

The way they talk about stuff other than the game going on, just drives me F'en crazy. :banghead:

MNF broadcasts are just painfult to listen to. From the stupid interviews to missing action on the field, to not having cameras, to incongrously stupid story lines (even in Buffalo, I find it hard to believe anybody cared last night about Edwards and his 100 first half passing yards or any QB controversy involving JP Losman). I had to mute the tv 3 times last night, and I never do that. I just couldn't take the inanity one second longer, and I needed a break. Tony Kornheiser is a tool.

Last week, their stupid PTI segment lost audio and they spent 5 minutes on air yelling at each other but literally unable to hear what the other person was saying. That's not a segment, folks, that's a metaphor.

Steve Young was almost despondent after the game. :D

As for the 2 point play, I'm sorry but I don't think they should call interference on that kind of play. The ball was underthrown and T.O. had an opportunity to catch it. You have to allow the defender to do something to defend that type of play. I just wish they would be consistent with the calls.

Watching the post-game segment of these three on SportsCenter was simply fantastic. Kornheiser looked like he was about to cry. He was completely exasperated that Dallas was somehow still undefeated. The disappointment in his face was priceless.

I disagree. If the defender is at least making a half way attempt to play the ball then I could understand. But in this situation the defender only attacked Owens. The defender has the right to fight for the ball but that's not what happened.

Didn't everyone but Berman pick the Cowboys to win ?

Not saying the MNF crew doesn't suck, but they pretty much expected Dallas to come back for most of the game.

I'd be happy if the Cowboys never play on MNF as long as those dip-wads are there.

There was a time when MNF was the highlight of the day... the whole day at work was looking forward to MNF even when the Boys weren't playing. But now? who cares.

Almost as good as reading the extremeSkins thread on the game. I know there is a thread for this, but this is all I could think of since he is such a Commander homer. Seriously if you all haven't read the game thread on ES, go do so it's priceless. I've never saw (read actually) a group of fans so nasty towards a team in my life. Absolutely classic.

Really? Is that why, with 6 minutes left, they were talking in past tense about the Bills winning.

After the TNew INT Kornheiser actually apologized for talking like the game was already won. NO ONE expected that comeback.

They absolutely SUCK.

The non-biased, professional booth? It's gone the way of the dodo at that network.

MNF has been a great franchise forever, yet it only took about a year for NBC's Sunday night show to take them out behind the woodshed, beat the holy hell out of them, steal their lunch money, and take their girfriend.

Great job, ESPN.

Yeah. I couldn't handle it. The announcers were so busy talking about players' backstories, players' personalities, etc. that there wasn't room in the broadcast to cover the actual game.

By the third quarter I ended up turning down the TV sound and turning up the Dallas Cowboys radio network ....

The radio call was great, but there was one major problem. The ESPN video was running roughly 20-25 seconds ahead of the radio source. ... but even that was better than listening to the mind numbling chaos in the ESPN booth.

That happens in almost every game like this.

I totally agree. All year I have disliked the coverage and thought it was because we weren't playing. Well, I realized last night that the coverage is terrible. Do I really care what Bill Walsh had to say about Trent Edwards? Not really, but I don't need to see a 30 second segment about it during the middle of the game. I realize it was between plays, but I like seeing the personnel changes and watching the guys after each play.

All of the primetime coverage has turned the game into a freakin soap opera. The NFL is trying to grow it's fan base which is understandable, but they don't cater to the die hard football fans. All these guys do is run their mouths about the players personal lives. On a rare occasion Jaws finds time to discuss X's and O's.

The best moment of the night for me was when I muted ESPN and tuned into Brad Sham via the Internet.
