(didn't see this mentioned anywhere else)

According to Broaddus, Terrance Mitchell might opt to not sign with our practice squad, in favor of signing with another teams'. I'm assuming, and I've heard some Twitter rumblings (nothing reliable though), that it's the Raiders. Makes sense, he's from Northern California. But kinda sucks.

The raiders also got an up close and personal view of him in the scrimmage. He did pretty well after the raider fans started chanting he sucks.

If we didn't think enough of him to add a 5th corner and if he won't want to be on our practice squad (if he's given a choice), it's probably best to move on anyway.

Anyway, I thought that if he clears waivers, that we still retain his rights? So if we wanted to put him on our PS, wouldn't he not be able to join another team unless they added him to their 53?

No, once you clear waivers, you're a free agent. Free to sign with any team, active roster or PS.

Ah OK, thanks. For some reason I thought we might have first dibs on him if we wanted him on the PS.

They should have never messed around with him. I hope the scrub fullback was worth it Garrett. We finally get an aggressive corner who admittedly is rough around the edges but at least not a coward like the bw webb character we kept around for a year and we get rid of him smh.

Usually teams do because players don't want to pack up and move again and learn a new scheme. If the raiders are calling it does make sense that he might want to go back home.

I'm willing to bet we will hardly use a fullback. This is a Garrett thing thats trying to fit people into his scheme rather than finding the best available people for the team. Fullbacks are the thing of the past. So his Garrett's style of coaching. His living in the 90s thinking he was Emmitt running the ball.

You guys keep on trying to figure out how to reinvent football...despite a player as the current fullback developing a role with DeMarco Murray, and also being strong on special teams. There is a reason why special teams have been top of the league for the past two seasons.

Players don't want to play for us but want to play for Chicago(Ratliff), Buffalo(Orton), and Oakland (Mitchell) instead?

Many players, especially those who consider other places home, prefer to play in their own area. It's perfectly understandable. The Cowboys aren't anything special to many other players anymore. Sadly, that's just how far we've decended in the last 18 years.

Yeah, I wasn't happy with letting this guy get away. I hope we can get him to the PS like we did Williams.

I'm not sure we have the best guys that were in camp on the 53, although Williams made it to the practice squad.

I think we have the guys that we are comfortable with.

Ryan Williams, Terrance Mitchell, Jamar Newsome...all looked pretty damn good.

We sign some real scrubs after cuts. The only guy who might have a real chance of success is Toomer.

I wish he thought like that. If he did we would be running the ball more. He doesn't value or care about the running games at times. Maybe this is him changing.
