It's not like the guys being replaced are all pros.. It's a process

At this point i would bet on some vets that have some juice left. Put them in a rotation along with who we have. We need some type of veteran presence out there on defense bad. Expecting all these UDFA rookies to contribute is a recipe for disaster.

They should have never messed around with him. I hope the scrub fullback was worth it Garrett. We finally get an aggressive corner who admittedly is rough around the edges but at least not a coward like the bw webb character we kept around for a year and we get rid of him smh.

Seriously? He'd have been the 6th corner here. Guy was getting abused and showed horrible technique to go along with the bulldog attitude. Great mentality on one hand, but you could tell he'd have been a project - which is what the practice squad is for.

I swear, some of you will complain about anything.

Can't blame Mitchell for ditching this Titanic....

And all of a sudden a decent secondary looks like it's ripe for the picking.

I expect by about week 3 we will be scrambling for CBs

(didn't see this mentioned anywhere else)

According to Broaddus, Terrance Mitchell might opt to not sign with our practice squad, in favor of signing with another teams'. I'm assuming, and I've heard some Twitter rumblings (nothing reliable though), that it's the Raiders. Makes sense, he's from Northern California. But kinda sucks.

No great loss.

If he can't make it in this sorry secondary, I dont see how he can be much of a player.

I can't believe the hand wringing over a PI machine that didn't make a single meaningful play in the entire pre-season. Seriously? The same whine and cheese crowd that are kicking up a storm over his release would have been the first ones crying a river the minute that the guy gave up a critical PI penalty in a game. I can hear it now: "This guy was horrible in the pre-season. He was a PI waiting to happen in a league that is focusing on illegal contact! Garrett has no idea what he is doing!" Thus the life of a perpetual whiner.

They can sign him off the Bears PS as easily as they could have signed him off of their own PS if they ever want him on the 53.

Rather have Mitchell than Pellerin

I don't think having either means much. Pellerin might at least give our receivers regular coverage to go against in practice instead of having to deal with being grabbed all the time by Mitchell ... although maybe it would be a good thing for them to learn to handle that just in case the officials still allow teams like Seattle to get away with being physical.

I don't really care if we lose Mitchell or not. The guy has a severe lack of foot speed. At that position, you have to play with perfect technique if you do not posses any catch up speed and he is light years away from that. I really love his physical demeanor but there are better players out there. Maybe he could put on a little weight and try safety.

On the Cowboys Radio show, Broaddus said that Mitchell soured a little on the coaches, DB coach specifically. That he felt he was too hard on him apparently.

All the better to get rid of him. He wanted to be coddled and it wasn't happening. His technique sucked and it obviously wasn't worth the effort of trying to coach it out of him.
