Terrance Newman ruined this game along with Wade

I've wanted Newman gone before this game. He is not worth his bloated salary and he has recentley make a habit of giving up the deep ball. Although Sensabaugh technically gave up the TD, Newman did not jam Rice at the line. Scandrick can give similar results at a much lower pay scale. Newman is on the downside of his career and thinks he is much better than he really is. Is he a bad CB? NO. But he is very average and being payed like an elite CB.

Newman should be released - his loss of Rice at the LOS was unforgivable and it should the end of his overrated career in Dallas - the last of the losing players on this team.
You forgot Roy Williams. He's been with this team a year and a half too long imo.

This is just another fine example of a non-difference maker than Jones absolutely had to have who hasn't done anything for us.

He's paid like a #1 and doesn't produce anywhere close to a #1 or #2.

I agree though. Newman absolutely needs to go. I was absolutely disgusted with him not only losing Rice at the LOS but also refusing to make a tackle on Peterson which gave him multiple, easy 1st downs.

So Newman is the scapegoat for a game where we were completely dominated in every facet of the game? Newsflash. If Newman wasn't out there today we still lose.

The o line lost this game i don't know why anyone would try to lay the blame on someone else when that was clear as day

I want to make a very stong statemant, " at least we aren't blaming or trashing Tony Romo this year" and that being said is a very good sign for our future to come with him...

Lets see so far there have been threads Blaming Roy and TNew. Some people cannot let go of their personal hates to see the forrest for the trees. Overall we did NOT play well enough to win a playoff game.

There it is in a nutshell, kids.

Obviously there's going to be some finger pointing after a loss (especially one that ends your season). The fact of the matter is. Minnesota is the better team this year. Dallas could have made a much better showing than they did yesterday, but it doesn't erase the fact that Minnesota was FAR better tan we were. It happens.

I was VERY confident heading into this game. No doubt about it. I thought we matched up very well with Minnesota. Fact is, I was wrong. I still don't believe that they are 34-3 better than us. I think the team did a lot to self sabotage (especially the offensive play-calling), but they were certainly better. Replacing Newman or Barber won't change that.

RE: Newman. I think it may be time to give Scandrick a shot opposite Jenkins and have Newman play nickel. JMO.

CBs are tough to find - we keep him warts and all for now. He is good in coverage but does fall asleep once in awhile. BTW, the first Rice TD was on Sensabaugh, not TNew. The second was on defense design on a broken play. The third was offensive PI.

Sensabaugh, had excellent coverage on that play, he just did not look up or even knew the ball had dropped into Rice's hands. It was a perfect throw, Rice was in stride and it fell right into his hands-his hands never even raised above his chest.

In fact both long touchdown throws we had good coverage on them, Jenkins was about 5 inches short of knocking that ball out of Rice's hands. It was just one of those days that Vikings could do no wrong and we did not execute enough on offense to help out the D.

As horrible as our offense was playing, one play could have gotten us back in the game. But we just could not solve their defensive line. The speed rush from the outside, countered with the defensive tackles collapsing the middle of our pocket just gave Romo no time. The one thing I thought they would have tried maybe was to roll Tony out of the pocket to give him some time and make the ends try to contain first rather than just charge up field. But woulda coulda shoulda is easy to say afterwards.

Good Season!!! A lot better than having to watch other teams in the playoffs and yours sitting at home. It just makes you want more hopefully this will ignite our team for next years run!!!

Wade went gutless on 4th and 1 and kicked a 48yd FG when his team was pummeling the Vikes DL.

People who wanted Free over Colombo were right as well - Marco needs to go.
They didn't kick a 48 yd. field goal!!! They missed a 48 yd. field goal!!!!

Incomprehensible call on Wade's part. We were totally gashing them at the time.

I think Newman stopped caring a long time ago. The guy just doesn’t give a **** about scheme and his responsibility on the field... The first TD was his fault...

People that continue to blame that touchdown on Newman don't know anything about football whatsoever.

Disagree, that was on tnew...he should have done something to slow Rice down...that guy had a free sprint...for no reason. That is what frustrates me about 41.

I've been trying to figure this out myself. I was at a bar where the sound wasn't very loud... I'm guessing the TV commentators blamed Newman for that TD? That must be where all this is coming from. Because it looked to me like a simple zone coverage where the corner passes off the deep receiver to the safety, who oh by the way was right in his hip pocket.

unless we know what coverage is on any given play its all guessing. Jaming a WR sounds great but you are gambling there as well with fast WRs.

Yes, Aikman blamed Newman for not jamming Rice.

The only problem was, our cornerbacks were both playing off the ball, and jamming the receivers would have been 5 yards and an automatic first down. So, either we called a defense that had both cornerbacks playing off and not jamming the receivers, or both Newman and Jenkins should have been pressing and jamming before dropping into zone.
