His health in question, Terry Glenn is out of football.

His personal life in turmoil, Terry Glenn is out of jail.

For now.

According to Irving police, Glenn, the Dallas Cowboys' leading receiver in 2005 and an integral part of their 2006 playoff team, was arrested at a hotel last week on charges of public intoxication and possession of marijuana. He also had four outstanding traffic warrants issued in Roanoke.

Irving PD spokesman David Tull says officers were summoned to the Extended Stay Deluxe Hotel near Meadow Creek Drive and Highway 114 on a suspicious person call. A source familiar with the incident says Glenn had been seen roaming the hotel's hallways naked, but Irving PD could not confirm that account.

Terrance Tyree Glenn was arrested Jan. 25 at 10:30 p.m. and posted bond Jan. 26 at 7:30 a.m.

Glenn's NFL career may not be over, but this is certainly a step in the wrong direction. Apparently if you're young and golden and marketable it's okay to get caught smoking pot. But if you're a 34-year-old receiver who's undergone two knee surgeries and played only one game the last two seasons ...

Glenn was Dallas' best receiver in '05-'06, amassing 132 catches for almost 2,200 yards and 13 touchdowns. But in '07 he needed two surgeries and missed the first 15 games. He was released last July 25th when he refused to sign an injury waiver before training camp.

Glenn talked to the Miami Dolphins but never signed, and wound up sitting out the season. He remains a free agent.

Far as I can tell this is Glenn's third arrest. He was booked for public intoxication in 2005 when officers caught him urinating behind a fast-food restaurant dumpster, and for assaulting the mother of his then-5-year-old son in 2001.

Truth be told, the Cowboys sorely missed Glenn's deep-threat speed last season. But, let's face it, they've got enough character and disciplinary problems to go around without him.

I wonder what type of personal demons this guy is trying to run away from?

I know a few years ago he was arrested for take a "leak" in a trash can in Oak Cliff.

I hope he gets his manages to get his life back in order.

Probably a combination of having to much money and not being a star anymore.

If he's at an extended stay place, could be he and his wife are having problems.

Love Jerry Jones or hate him...give him credit for waiving Glenn and knowing no one would pick him up. Remember Glenn's Agent thinking Jerry was making a mistake?

Score one for him on this player.

I like Terry Glenn. This is too bad. Only idiots use drugs as a way to cope.

Hate to see guys like him doing stupid things. Sad story and probably a harbinger of more things negative to come.

Which probably has to do with what I said.

When pro athletes suddenly become not pro athletes ...... they usually start having family problems.

We take out our problems on those we love.

Terry has been troubled since he was a little kid, though I'm sure it is true that losing the structure and camaraderie that a team and a job provide doesn't help matters for him when things get tough.

Yep. That had to be a tough move, Glenn always struck me as a good guy and a hard worker. Definitely a team player, blocked hard, ran good routes, practiced hard, etc.

His agent was playing serious hardball, and I think he was using Miami as leverage. Jerry didn't budge. Score one for the crypt keeper.

I hate to see this happen too. Except for a few minor incidents, he hadn't been in trouble for some time. He seemed like a hard worker and good teammate. He probably needs to be involved in football to stay out of trouble, but you can't play forever. Some guys have a harder time accepting that than others.

I liked Glenn as a player. I rarely, to my own knowledge anyway, express a ton of like for a player, personally, cause I don't know them.

But knowing that he obviously uses drugs to cope with issues, per this article, is only one thing. That really wouldn't bother me much cause that's all to common anymore.

The part of the article, that I didn't know, that really bugs me is his assault on a woman. I don't care if it was so much as simply grabbing her arm and shaking her, it makes him a punk in my eyes.

There is simply no excuse for behavior like that.

I don't know if the most recent arrest reflects "demons" so much as immaturity. He likes to party and makes bad decisions - at least he isn't driving or endangering people.

Tough move? No. The tough move would have been to put him on IR, where he belonged in 2007
