You ask why would they cut him, then say you are all on board without finding out why they cut him, i would suggest a bit of due diligence first.

not saying I wouldn't kick the tires, but in reading some of the Houston posts sounds like there might be reasons that would be disruptive to the locker room.
Your guess is as good as mine, but we have all seen talented players on bad teams pull this trick a few times just to leave town and Dallas is just down the road from Houston.

oh please... dont we have a non nonsense cut throat amazing coach now? That and that incredible defensive coordinator? Would they keep starting a guy that is only "Protecting himself?" I would think not.. so maybe your subjective bias is coming out?

He cried about Jaylon? Give me a break and try to remove yourself from the bubble.
He did cry about Jaylon. I can post his comments if you like.

The only reason he is starting right now is because Cox got hurt. If you cant see it. Not my issue.

Are we really just going to ignore the fact that this guy, after getting a big bag of guaranteed money, completely quit on his team. Is this really the type of player we want? Have we not been battling against this type of attitude in the locker room for years?
I understand where your coming from, but sometimes the best swimmers get off the boat first before it sinks.
May not be heralded bravado thats respected from every perspective, but the true contenders in this league grab available talent when its available.
I have no authority to say why ZC was cut, but it wasnt a felony or you would think that type of behavior would have hit the mainstream news.
Just my opinion, seems like a selfish in house move and he made it clear he wasnt happy in that house.
This is the modern NFL,, as a fan I can live with a very talented physical LB that can be an immediate upgrade in the middle of this defense.
Being selfish and working your way out of a loser gig in Houston isnt a felony or even a misdemeanor... no crime committed here.
Maybe my standards have dipped a bit over the past 25 years,, but Im good with it.
Zach Cunningham is a stud LB in this game, just been in a hole in Houston.

According to spotrac there are no years remaining.
I seen that
But his contract was just restructured so there has to be years remaining
I think they do that when a player is released because it only matters if he’s claimed
If he clears waivers he’s free to sign a new deal, but if claimed the remainder of his old deal is in place which would just be the base salaries
OBJ’s was taken off when he was waived but since he wasn’t claimed it voided
If you want him long term you want him to clear and then sign him making his cap hits cheaper
But if you claim him he could basically be a hired gun for the remainder of the season and all you pay is the balance of his base salary which won’t be much remaining

Good points. I’d just pick him up for the rest of this season and release him if there are bigger paydays in the contract.

if any of that true he wont clear waivers and team who is way ahead of us in waiver claims will take him so this thread is MOOT..hes technically not available to us until he goes through 20 + other teams passing on him..

I’d sure see what the deal was
It appears he gave up on the organization which is a real mess there
But he’s better than LVE for sure
I’m curious to see if he clears waivers

I dont know why I am excited. He could tell Jerry hed play for free and Stephen would say "we like our guys"

I’m not getting my hopes up either. For all of the good moves they’ve made this season, why they’ve done nothing about linebacker is a head scratcher for me.

so if he clears waivers for 20 other teams isnt that saying all teams like their guys,,just a jerry thing huh..get out of here..
also if he clears waivers how good is he?

some of you are simply lost within your own thoughts lol

hes been cut by a bad team, may clear waivers of 20 teams ahead of us ,and not claimed and its just a cowboys issue??? what were your NFL credentials again?

OMG LOL!!!!:muttley::facepalm:
