Are we really just going to ignore the fact that this guy, after getting a big bag of guaranteed money, completely quit on his team. Is this really the type of player we want? Have we not been battling against this type of attitude in the locker room for years?

Anyone who thinks that bum is gonna actually suit up and play hard for $275k is dreaming. I can 100% guarantee you that any team interested in claiming him has contacted the agent and the agent has said if you claim him you need to rip up his contract and here is the list of new demands.

I get that, but we are about to try to make a playoff run and we need help at Lb. Why not claim him and use him as a rental for the remainder of this season? There's no danger in that.

The danger is he could be a liability on the field or in the locker room....so many questions with this guys release that still need clarity

Could he help? On the field possibly yes

Could he hurt? On the field and in the locker room also possibly yes.

Not a clear one here unfortunately

I get that. I suppose the advantage if he's on a cheap deal with most of his contract coming from the Texans still is that, if he is a locker room cancer, we can cut him rather easily. He'd only be a rental anyway. I think the fact he'd be on a winning team means he'd probably want to help us be the reason we go from an ok playoff run to a very deep playoff run. I think that would help his career long term, and I think that'd be the pitch I'd make to him if I were Jerry. Buckle down, play well the rest of this season, and you will reap big rewards afterwards.

He is not on a cheap deal. He got paid and is now free of his responsibilities. He would sit on the couch before he would suit up for a pathetic 275k. It makes zero sense for him to move a muscle. That is why the Texans cut him. Do you really think he is saying to himself for 275k I am not lifting a finger to help the Texans but I would move heaven and earth for the Cowboys.

If I were him, I would. Yes, he's free of the short term responsibility, but if a playoff contender like us comes knocking, it can only help his career. Especially if he shows he can make a difference. Doing something like that can thrust him into an even bigger payday later. Not to mention the fact he wouldn't be moving very far for this rental. Just up the interstate, and he's not even leaving the state if he does. It's a smart move for him, and a smart move for us to at least try to get him.

So you think he is retiring?

For the rest of this season? Yeah. Sign me up. He’ll be an improvement over what we have now.

So you actually believe that he’ll nuke his career? Yeah. No.

It would be nice to have an MLB who tackles. Cut LVE sign this guy. Call it a day.
CUT LVE? You do realize doing crap like that gets around to other players, right? So cut a guy at the end of the season that does all you ask? And then why would any player ever have any loyalty to us? or come here as a free agent?

If you brought this guy in, you wouldnt cut LVE.

Yeah I saw that and I would definitely be monitoring this if I was the Cowboys.
why? Again, I follow your posts. We cant win no matter what. So why would we want to bring in a player like this? Dak cant ever win big games... remember?

Does everything hes asked? He has been protecting himself for weeks. You cut him for lack of effort and poor play. I would have cut him after he cried about Jaylon being cut to be honest.

wait.. I would follow the greatest coach to ever step on a fields lead.. Billy Boy. Didnt Randy Moss absolutely quit on the Raiders and get picked up by Billy?
Didnt Antonio Brown also quit on the Raiders? And Arians had zero issues picking him up.

Why should we only look for choir boys?

oh please... dont we have a non nonsense cut throat amazing coach now? That and that incredible defensive coordinator? Would they keep starting a guy that is only "Protecting himself?" I would think not.. so maybe your subjective bias is coming out?

He cried about Jaylon? Give me a break and try to remove yourself from the bubble.
