Texans cut David Carr and Dominick Davis

If it was my choice, it would have been Bush. Pick up the OL further in the draft. Darn that kid is good.

How about O-line, Jones-Drew who did everything Bush did this past season and then throw in Marques Colston to compliment Andre Johnson? Too bad no team has that much foresight.

Im pretty sure he's gonna wanna go somewhere where he can start. Why would he want to settle for a backup position this early in his career?

I can't think of anywhere else he'd be guaranteed a starting position.

I don't agree with this at all. If Carr goes to Oakland and fails misserably, what are the chances that he's going to get a second shot at starting anywhere? The smart thing to do here is sing on with the right situation IMO. Miami would be a good situation for him IMO. Cleveland would be an excellent situation for him, IMO. Washington would be a very good situation for him IMO. Any of these destinations would work much better for him, IMO, then would Oakland. To go to Oakland would simply confirm what some believe to be true about him. He's not a smart QB. Has trouble making good decisions.

I completely agree with you on this Josee. The smart thing for them to do would have been to switch places with the Jets, who wanted Young last year, and then for them to pick Ferguson. Thought so then and still think so now.

I would bring Carr in for sure. He will be a career backup.

Miami seems deadset on Green. Green is familiar with Cameron's system. Cleveland's Oline isn' much better than OAKs, and OAK has better weapons, especially if they take CJ.

OAK seems like a logical choice.

I'm not surprised they couldn't trade Carr, but I thought at least someone would make a trade for Davis, say like Buffalo.

It depends on if Carr can shake off the instinctive need to flinch and duck as soon as he drops back. 5 years of getting hit like a bowling pin on league night can really mess you up. The Pats fan was right- Plunkett showed he could play well once he got with a good team. I think Carr could be another Plunkett.

You would think they could have atleast gotten a 5-7th for Carr. I'm a little shocked that they didn't wait a little longer and atleast explore some possibilities.

Looks like Houston is STILL waiting for pro football.

Oakland, IMO, has far and away the worst offensive line in the NFL. Besides that, they are horrible from an ownership stand point. Cleveland is going to get better under Crennel IMO. To me, that's the biggest difference. You figure Cleveland with a rising star in Edwards at WR, Juravicius, Ruben Droughns, Winslow at TE, Coleman, Fraley and Andruzzi in the center of that line are OK. They need help at both Tackle spots but they have the bases of a decent offense IMO. They'll probably draft Peterson which, IMO, is going to be a much bigger help then any 1st year WR would be to a QB. To me, there is no question, Cleveland is a much better offensive team and situation. JMO of course. Green is a decent QB but he's also pretty old. He aint going for ever. To me, Miami is a much better situation regardless of Green or not, which is not a done deal by any means BTW. We'll have to agree to disagree. I don't see how anybody can say that Oakland would be a good place for Carr.

I'd bring in Carr for a look.

I think he's a better option than Brad Johnson.

We also wouldn't have to draft a QB.

Or, we could still draft a QB and cut Johnson.

I could care less where Carr ends up going, I just see him and OAK as a logical fit.

As I said, agree to disagree.

Oaklands definitely a possibility...they could start him for the first yr or so while Russell gets more ready, or if they think he can really play (which I dont by the way) he could be their starting QB and they could possibly use the first pick on Johnson

I would think Minnesota, Detroit and maybe Cleveland would look at him too

I've no doubt that Oakland would see it that way. The question is, if you were Carr, would you sign with Oakland?

probably not, but if its the only place he can get paid I guess the answer would be different

Hard for me to believe that the Texans got more for Drew Henson than they got for David Carr.

I'd guess that Carr's contract made him untradeable ... with no team willing to take on his current contract. Probably high dollar, wouldn't you think?

:hammer: everyone knows the Texans don't want him and he had a big contract

bad combination for a trade

I beleive what made him untradeable was the fact that the Texans picked up 8 mill bonus on him last year. A blunder in itself. They should have waited to see if he was truly Kubiak's guy. Ironically, Kubiak signed off on the idea of footing the bonus last season.
