Yeah, they deserve some kudos. I really like them next year, but with this mediocre division, maybe they end up on top this year.

This IS a Cowboys site though.
I am following them closley, we're just all a bit punch drunk from past seasons.

Well, Elvis Andrus made one of the best defensive play I've ever seen last night. Glad I stayed awake for it. They have a little something this yr. World Series Championship may be premature, tho they can win their Division with just a little help fr the pitching staff.

I'm just glad to see the pitching starting to clean up. After all the changes Nolan made and then to see them (well except Millwood) come out all inconsistent, I was thinking to myself. Oh @#% here we go again!

As for Elvus, I was afraid they brought him up way to early. Especially with all the throwing errors last year and him proceding to commit them immediately out of the gate this season. He seems to have cleaned it up a bit. He has six errors now, but could easily have closer to twelve and all of them throwing errors if Davis hadn't made several great plays preventing them. Elvus has been much better lately. I'm surprised at him hitting in the #2 spot and having success. Of course, I'm sure the league just hasn't figured him out yet.

As for Crush Davis, the man has issues hitting breaking balls. I offically name him Pedro Cerano. He hit a home run on a breaking ball the other day, but that is after he has seen nothing but lately. (teams have figure out he has issues hitting them)

As noted above, it appears their pitching is coming around. I believe they have a 3.50ish ERA over the last 11 games which is a big reason they are 8 of 11 during that time. Padilla was a beast last night giving up only a single hit and no earn runs over eight innings last night.

Being in the northeast, I'm very happy about MLB.tv, but whoever runs their technology department should be canned immediately. First chosing Microsoft technology to run MLB.tv and then once figuring out it was a major mistake, they didn't workout all the issues with the flash technology before rolling it out. ...and of course NexDef as it stands now, has issues and lacks standard support.

Fist place Texas Rangers. If they can only hang on for the next 135 gms they will shock the world.

Scott "Marty" Feldman was solid last night

LOL, I said that to my wife last night and this morning (she is a dirty Yankee fan)

First Place Texas Rangers.

I will have to go see if the Ticket's website still has that audio clip.

EDIT: Crap, they seem to have removed the audio clips they used to keep on the site. :(

Rangers are looking tough.
Maybe they're a year ahead of schedule and will contend for the division all year long. It'd be nice to have some summer excitement for a change.

I don't like covered stadiums and I do love our Ballpark, but if there was ever a team in need of a stadium w/ a retractable roof, it would be the Rangers. Too late now...and they do have nice stadium...just melts people in July/August.

Brandon McCarthy sucks.

I've never been high on him since I heard an interview where he all but admitted to extreme laziness in the most boastful manner. He's an underacheiver- that's always bad no matter what we're talking bout.

I still long for Danks...but then there's this image and things don't seem so bad without him

LOL, I was watching the game when he did that. I pointed it out to my wife and she cringed.

Hopefully the Harrison/Teagarden duo continues its recent trend tonight, and with Millwood on the mound tomorrow night maybe we can take yet another series and keep the momentum rolling.

Padilla with two straight games giving up only a single hit. First time in Rangers history that a starting pitcher went at least seven innings and only giving up a single hit in two straight games.

As for Saturdays game. That pisses me off. They had so many chances to score, yet failed. These guys keep screwing Millwood over. The guy has been a pitching machine and they take the day off almost every time he pitches.

The stupid stikeouts have got to stop too. It's unreal how often they strikeout. Chris Davis strikes out 47% of the time. He has 50 total bases and 49 strikeouts. I like his defense. He has been playing well on the field, but the guy swings the bat like a high schooler. He swings with an upper cut that is about 40 degrees rather than swinging parallel with the ground. He also always swings with power rather than for contact. It's all or nothing with him and the poor swing angle just makes it that much worse. Like Orlando Cepeda said about Nolan Ryan. Trying to hit off of him is like trying to eat soup with a fork. Except for Davis, every pitcher is Nolan Ryan because of his stupid upper cut swing. Is RudyJaramillo even watching tape of this guy?!?!?

I like the kid. I just want Rudy Jaramillo to do his job with not only Davis but the rest of the guys. The guys are striking out 23.3% of the time as a team and only walking 7%. Those numbers are asinine. They have 83 walks in 1,107 at bats with 259 strikeouts. :bang2:

I was just messing with. You make good pts about Davis, couldn't disagree that it's the hitting coach's job to take a young player and with what i think is a lot opf potential and refine his appraoch. We'll see if it happens. This team needs more balance to their power hitting game. Every now and then you just need a well placed single!

I hope they do well, I'd like to see them do well, unfortunately I imagine they'll simply tank as the season goes on as they've been known to do.
