The Orioles hadn't been swept all season...until the met the manly Rangers in the Playoffs! SWEEP!
Rangers are 5-0 in the playoffs! Now we await what's next.
They are. I’m hoping the Twins win tomorrow and force the ‘stros to start Verlander in game 5. That should limit him to only 1 game in the ALCS.Not me. The Astros are too dang good.
I was thinking Houston swept them in late August or September. The Orioles hadn't been swept all season...until the met the manly Rangers in the Playoffs! SWEEP!

Baseball isn't like football. There's a lot of luck involved and a matter of who's hot/who's not at just the right time. So Baseball playoffs are a crapshoot. Many seasons the best teams get knocked out. Just glad Rangers were hot at the right time.AL east got thumped 1,2,3, and out. They that bad?
You're right about the hot team peaking at the right time, that goes for mostly all sports, unless there's a super team developing a dynasty.Baseball isn't like football. Agree, but it's particularly true about baseball. You're right about the hot team peaking at the right time, that goes for mostly all sports, unless there's a super team developing a dynasty.
I heard he's likely to be on the roster for the next round, so it sounds like they'll try to use him in some capacity. How? As his customary starter role...or in the pen? I've got not idea.Any news on Max Scherzer?
Why is a ball that spins excessively described as having a lot of "English"?Agree, but it's particularly true about baseball.
In baseball if you win 60% of your games you are top tier, which reflects how many games a great team can lose just because of bad fortune.
A 110 mile rocket hit on a hop to the left fielder often results in a single. So is an an utterly mi**** squib that slowly dribbles up the third base line. A 395 yard drive caught against the wall is an out. So is a lazy pop-up to the second-baseman.
You've got names for these things: "Seeing-eyes-groundball," (slow ground ball that luckily finds a gap between fielders) "Texas Leager" (lucky bloop), etc
Great question! LOL. Maybe? Why is a ball that spins excessively described as having a lot of "English"?
Is that implying that the English are tricky and deceptive?
