It's a weird dynamic for sure the Ranger "feel" small market even though DFW is the 4th largest metro area in the US and the Rangers share a parking lot with the most valuable sports franchise on the planet lolI should have used small(less) National coverage instead of small market. Texas has been among the higher spenders the last few years. But, they are no where near NY, LA, etc.
Spending most of my time in SoCal, the Texas Rangers are hardly mentioned in any sports news(until the last few weeks), they are a blip on the radar of little importance. I would call them mid-market if it needs a label.
