I have zero rooting interest. Both teams are dog crap. Two loser franchises. It's a shame one has to win.
I don't think you can say that about either team.

The Rangers were good all season and the Diamondbacks beat the Brewers, the 100-win Dodgers and the hot Phillies in the playoffs all without having home field advantage.

I am not a Rangers or Diamondbacks fan, but I think it's great that two teams who have not been in it for a while are playing each other instead of the same old teams.

I do agree with you that MLB-wise, it is probably one of the worst combinations of teams and one that MLB likely hoped would not happen, but for true fans of the game whose teams are going to be watching the World Series instead of playing in it, I think it's a good matchup.

Disagree. The Rangers-Astros are now one of the most intense and genuinely hate-filled rivalries in baseball, which is cool.

The Rangers killed the Astros for years when Houston first joined the AL. Then the Astros flipped the script.

Now they're both built to be good for years, and they've been to the World Series 7 times in the past 13 years.

I will agree that a Dallas-Philly match-up would have been better, especially with Cowboys and Eagles also playing next weekend.

I dont see how it's arguable. The Rangers franchise have been in existence since the early 60s. They've been the Rangers since the early 70s. Zero titles.

Nothing more needs to be said than that.

When my team is not in, I like to root for teams who have no recent history of winning championships.

I realize it's not the exciting or popular viewpoint by any means, but it is nice to see new teams for a change.

Now would I like to see this happen every year? Of course not, but 2022 was the Astros vs the Phillies, so I'm glad we avoided a rerun of that series.

I've lived in Dallas for 37 years and have yet to see someone dressed like JR Ewing.
I actually work with a guy way back in the 70’s that did. But he originally was from Weatherford. He even had custom cowboy golf boots made.

This won’t be an exciting series for many outside the two fan bases but I’m excited for the Rangers. My issue is we seem to play another “hot” or “miracle” team and then heartache. Hope our confidence stays high and we get our first like they did vs Yanks

Kudos hats off to the Texas Rangers ...

I admit that I doubt them and thought it was only matter of time outta the playoffs.
and to think they were also wild carders,

in fact I doubted them yet again when the Houston Astros won 3 st8 games to tie series into game 7 .
.winners take all.

This could be a Cinderella story if (when?) they beat Arizona
- and do somethin even the great Ron Washington could not achieve.......

A couple years ago I didn’t know if we’d ever get back, but here we are. Let’s go win it all Rangers.

Congrats to the Rangers. Back when I actually cared about baseball the Rangers were my team. Hopefully they can win their first World Series. People say it’s bad being a Cowboys fan… at least there is some history of championships.

How in “ baseball terms “ is Texas “ small market “. KC Oakland Milwaukee Tampa sure but not Texas .
I should have used small(less) National coverage instead of small market. Texas has been among the higher spenders the last few years. But, they are no where near NY, LA, etc.

Spending most of my time in SoCal, the Texas Rangers are hardly mentioned in any sports news(until the last few weeks), they are a blip on the radar of little importance. I would call them mid-market if it needs a label.

These are really strange and bizarre takes.

I haven’t watched a game since MLB pulled their disgusting Atlanta All Star game nonsense.

With that said…..these are still odd statements. How are the two best teams who are good enough to make it to the series “dog crap”?

Five Items of Greatness:

1. The Rangers are in the Final Dance.
2. Arizona is also in the world series. Bravo to small markets. A certain finger to the big money, established clubs, the media, and bi-Coastal fraud-narcissism. I'm 15 miles from the home stadium.
3. The Rangers are poised to get even better in coming years.
4. @Risen Star soiled his Philthy self some days ago, assuming Philthy was going to roll their series and mop up AL remnants. He trashed all AL competition, LOL. And called all Texans rednecks and hicks. How can this get any better?
5. @Risen Star deliciously decides to go double-down with his posts and pants...yet again...trying to tell us we should care about ratings. LMAO!

Risen Star has provided more Sports Joy...laughing in his face...than I've had in some time. Whether the Snakes or Rangers win...I find it absolutely delightful. More fun, even, than laughing at a quarterback named Wince/Ouch.

I think he's just bitter that whatever team he roots for isn't there (Philly?). He sounds like a Yankees, Cardinals, or Dodgers fan who thinks only those teams belong in the WS every year.

He's partially right about the Rangers, though. 51 years in the MLB (as the Texas Rangers) and for the most part, yes, the franchise has been dog crap. They lost 90 games or more 13 times. The first time they made the playoffs wasn't until 1996, and only have 7 more post season appearances in the 27 years since. The franchise is definitely lacking in success compared to other franchises that have been playing for a 100 years or more.

There was a time I never thought I would live long enough to see the Rangers make it to the WS and now they're headed to their 3rd. The job isn't done yet, though.

No, you as a loser Rangers fan shouldn't care about ratings. You should care that your pathetic franchise might actually win a title. Focus on that. It's the rest of the sports world that cares that two bum teams are in it that nobody outside of their fanbase cares about.

It should also be noted that the gutless wonder said nothing until after the results. He sat on the sidelines with no courage to speak.

He's the kind of guy who gets a kick in when its safe when real men are fighting.

I couldn't possibly care less what you find strange and bizarre and it's not on me to explain anything to you.

This is like the Jaguars and Cardinals making the Super Bowl.

Who is your team? Philly? Cowboys fans are accused of being 'entitled', but holy hell, man, you are taking this to new extremes. I usually enjoy your wit and humor, but you are sounding like a spoiled kid who had his favorite toy taken away from him and is now lashing out at the world.

As far as the markets are concerned, would you say Dallas is a top market when we're talking about the Cowboys? They absolutely are. Hell, we hosted a super bowl here. Has Philly done that? New York? Chicago?. I get it - Dallas is a football city, but that shouldn't take anything away from the Rangers, Mavericks, or Stars. You do realize the two stadiums are right next to each other, right? You can literally walk across a parking lot from AT&T to get to Globe Life. They're that close. The Rangers belong in the same market is all I'm trying to say.

Tell me he didn't just compare the Dallas Cowboys to the frigging Texas Rangers.

Tell me he didn't.

I'm only comparing the markets. The DFW area is only big market if we're talking about the Cowboys, right? Even though they share the same market with the Rangers, Stars, and Mavericks? Here's something for you to chew on - which franchise has had more postseason success the past 27 years. the Cowboys or the Rangers?
