More like Vintage Mack circa 2001-2004 and I hate to say it. These players were recruited to play the spread. The defense is built to stop the spread. They are fast but they are not big. This offense that Texas is running now is what Texas ran during those years. This time, there is no running back. Gilbert got the accolades running the spread offense. Not pro style. Basically, the coaches are not maximizing the players talent.

I'm read to see Greg and McWhorter get the boot. Especially Greg. He's not some great play caller. He's worse than Jason garrett.
why did they spend the first two games acting like they wanted to be a running team just to go back to the spread, all that did was stunt Gilbert's growth.

In all honesty, this is just like 2007 all over again. Reminds me of 2007 KSU. Texas lost at home 41-21.

2007! Earlier, I meant to write 2007 rather than 2008. Thanks.

I agree. But it won't happen. If Mack didn't fire Greg between 2001 - 2004, he won't fire him now.

Nope... won't happen... Greg's been the weak link on this team for years but Mack is loyal to a fault...

We don't have a #1 receiver. We don't have a #1 rb. And Gilbert doesn't look all that great either but I'll give him a pass as it's his first year.

Not gonna be a fun year :(

My Bruins don't even have a quarterback and we crushed those Longhorns---in their house.

The Bruins brought the boom.

Nope... looks like Nebraska is the class of the Big 12 thus far...

OU in a close one with Cincy thus far...

Yeah. I know Scipio and that is frustrating. Only way Greg leaves is when Mack leaves. Love Mack as a recruiter. But if this continues to happen, the mantra of coach February will come back sooner rather than later.

I wish I could tell you. They threw the ball nearly 50 times today. Mindnumbing. :bang2: Mack and Greg simply do not know how to run the football. They have Shead and Hills on the bench and if the three in front of them continue to get hurt, why not play them?

You know what. I been fighting this all season but I have to say it. Just go back to the spread. They see what the SEC does and now they want to emulate it.

The big 12 is such a over-hyped conference.

I don't know if Chris Whaley slapped Mack's wife or what but what the hell, put him in the game, he spent 4 years at Madisonville blocking for himself, he would be used to it.

Yeah they need to use him. If you're not going to play him now, why recruit him over Michael and when do you think you're going to play him. Seeing as how Malcolm Brown is going to come in next year.

Texas (3-1) lost its first home game since 2007 against Kansas State and scored its fewest points at home since a 12-7 loss to Texas A&M in 2006

can't wait until next week OU's gonna pound UT

It really depends. If Texas can run it, they have a great shot of winning it. The Sooner defense is putrid. The Sooners remind me a lot of the Cowboys, w/ how they are just waiting for someone else to make a play.

Our Sooner OL can't run block to save their lives.

We'll see how it pans out next week in Dallas.

Sorry for the loss at home today Longhorns, thats a bummer.

Always next week.

OU will have the better, more experienced QB, going into this game and Texas will have the better defense / special teams.

I think this game will just be a classic case of whoever turns over the ball or has the most penalties will lose the game.

This is definetely a watered down RRR.

The most surprising thing we found out today is that UCLA has fans, well today at least.

The longhorns are far more like the cowboys then OU is, the only other team i've seen shoot them selves in the foot as much as the horns is the Cowboys :bang2:

I never expected much from them this season but it's still kinda shocking just how bad their offense is this year

Plenty of UCLA fans. Obviously this board seems to be more UT focused though. The Cowboys have had some great UCLA players as well.
