pitt - i never said much directly to you during the year - but i always looked for your posts. you knew what your son was up against and you've been with him every step of the way - or just how *i* think a father should be there for his son. it's no secret i hated our line but loved what i saw from rob on the sidelines when i could, and the intensity he showed and how he always hung tough. i felt in time that would serve him well - and i hope it still will.

where ever your son lands, i do encourage you to be a part of some of that teams good message boards. while you'll run into a few a-holes taking shots only cause they can, i can promise you the vast majority of fans so apprecaite having a vocal family member to talk to during the season. it brought the team that much closer to us all and while i think we'll miss rob on the field, i think we'll miss you in here just as much.

so when he finds another team (is it possible for him to be on our practice squad then the fight isn't over yet!) or stays here - i hope you're a part of the fan community also. it only makes our own participation in this sport that much more enjoyable.

best of luck to you both, pitt.

A player's pop was so gracious to come in here, share some info, and is good enough even after the way some people treated him, to give his regards and say goodbye.

Thanks pittdawg, good luck to you and Rob.
True character shines through even in tough moments. Taking the time to stop bye and thank us for supporting his son and wishing the team well was a very classy move.

I would wish Rob good luck, but with his talent and the support of such a great family I don't think he will need it.

Tell Rob that Plenty of Cowboys fans are not happy with Rob being release. I hope Rob makes it big in NFL, just not NFC East hopefully. Thanks for posting here, Pittdawg and tolerated some numbskulls on this board, who think somehow extended courtesy to a family member posting on this board is somehow sucking up.

Thanks for being a member of our board for a while. I can't tell you how disappointed I am that Rob was cut. I think with another year under his belt he will be very good.

I'm sure he gets picked up by somebody and good luck to him.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your son with us. I am very shocked Rob was cut. Wrong decision. Hopefully he will catch on with another team quickly. Hopefully someone from the AFC so we wont have to play against him. Good luck

just want to say so long to all the cowboy fans out there that have believed in and supported rob. i doubt i will post again, but do wish the team the best.

Pittdawg.

I'm sorry things didn't work out for Rob. I thought he did ok for a guy who was just thrown to the wolves in his first year. I am sure it was a hard decision by Bill to go that route. Who knows if Vandy makes them field goals, we might not be having this conversation.

I consider you a class act by coming here and posting insight with us. It must of been tough at times but I always admired how you just took it on the chin and kept on smiling.

I wish you and Rob the best.

I gotta bump this because no matter what your opinion was of Petitti and the battles for playing time, you gotta admit, that's cool as hell that a player's old man would bother to spend his time on the cesspool known as the internet. We ain't gonna see anything like this again.

Rob will have a job in the NFL. He sounds like a good guy, and a hard worker. Hopefully he catches on, and thanks for posting here.

Pittdawg, for what it's worth, your son made a Petitti fan out of this NFL fan....his dedication losing all that weight, playing thru that supperating injury last summer, the trial by fire last season, and the continued committent this offseason and summer. Rob is the kind of lunch pail player I just naturally love.

I will keep tabs on him wherever he goes in this league, and wish him and your whole family the best.

God bless.
