Thanksgiving actually helps us this year.

We should beat Washington and Oakland, and then we essentially have another bye week before we have to play New York.

I would agree. These are 2 home games that if we come out on top in both we will be sitting pretty at 8-3 with a little time off before hitting the final 5 games of the season. Cowboys need to go out and take care of their business starting this sunday.

I think we'll be 8-3 after the Oakland game. I believe we can get those W's there like we need to.

After that is when it will start getting really tight again.

I always refer to the week after thanksgiving as the mini bye week. I think it always helps us. I think it's an advantage to play on thanksgiving every year.

I agree, all I'm saying is that sometimes going into thanksgiving hurts us, but with our schedule this year and who we are playing, its a huge positive.

Like everyone else, I want to win every game.

But if I had to pick one to win out of the Packers game last week or the Giants game in a few weeks, I want the Giants game more.

These next two games are so important we all know that. We gotta be in the best position going into December. I know we laid an egg in Green Bay, but Dallas is expected to win these next two games at home. Washington always plays us tough but they aren't very talented. Oakland? Riiiight.

The only problem with that is the giants play on Thanksgiving also. The have a mini bye also, plus they play at home, the Sunday game after Thanksgiving, we have to travel to them.

good point........time was when everyone felt we were punished every year for having to play on Thanksgiving every year but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it has turned into another mini bye week to heal wounds and get extra prep for the next game...plus the visiting team that comes to play us on Turkey day only has a day or 2 of prep since they have to travel on top of everything else

There are many in the league that aren't fond of that very advantage for the Cowboys EVERY single year. In their arguments, they conspicuously leave out the fact that Dallas plays 3 games in an 11 day stretch EVERY year.

3 games in 21 days or 3 games in 11? Hmmm I wonder who would have more time to prepare and heal?

True but with the Thursday Night games more team get an opportunity to get the chance to prepare for 2 games in less than a week and get the mini bye afterwards. When no one wanted the Thanksgiving Day game Dallas took it but with one catch which would be we will host every year, thankfully Jerry has been as firm on this as Tex was.

Thanksgiving helps us EVERY year, why do you think we have such a high winning % on both turkey day and in the following week's game?

I always saw it as almost unfair, at least until they started putting a bunch of games on thursday night throughout the season

It might help us in the short term, but in the long run, i think it has played a part in setting us up for failure.

But I think that has had more to do with us getting a little ahead of ourselves.

Which I think this game against Green Bay might have fixed before we got to that point. I think thats why we struggle down the road.

Jason Garrett's inability to focus on the run also hurts us, and it hurts romo. Green Bay even said it, we just passed, and that let them blitz every down.

Agreed. I won't be surprised at all if we lose to the Skins and I guarantee it will not be a blow out (by Dallas anyway)
