Thanksgiving actually helps us this year.

I really, really enjoyed that movie.

Back to the topic. I dont think the Thanksgiving game is a distinct advantage or disadvantage.

I think since it basically is two back to back home games on a short week its probably an advantage. Now you still have to take advantage of it, but I bet most teams would classify it as advantageous, giving you a short week at home followed by a long week to try and get a little bit healthier.

True but with the Thursday Night games more team get an opportunity to get the chance to prepare for 2 games in less than a week and get the mini bye afterwards. When no one wanted the Thanksgiving Day game Dallas took it but with one catch which would be we will host every year, thankfully Jerry has been as firm on this as Tex was.

Didn't know that. Pretty interesting stuff. Thanks for the history lesson.;)

There are many in the league that aren't fond of that very advantage for the Cowboys EVERY single year. In their arguments, they conspicuously leave out the fact that Dallas plays 3 games in an 11 day stretch EVERY year.

3 games in 21 days or 3 games in 11? Hmmm I wonder who would have more time to prepare and heal?

realistically its 3 games in a 12 day span and your really only loosing 3 days of prepare and healing time. your forgetting about the whole week prior to the first of 3 games where in fact we prepare for the first game. only time were really loosing anything is turkey day given the players are probably a lot more tired, but i guess the good thing about it this year is its the raiders!

Um Commanders maybe, but Oakland just straight up ****ing sucks. I do hope Jamarcus is starting that game.

We should be able to rest the starters after the 3rd in that Oakland game.

At the time not many wanted to deal with the short week to get ready for essentially 2 games in 4 days. Tex knew the importance of traditions as well as exposure and made the deal. I love it I have gone to every Thanksgiving Day game played except the 1st one it has become my own families tradition to go to the game.

Yet, they beat the egals, course, so did Dallas but, still. Past games this season mean NOTHING when it comes to Dallas. Dallas could easily lay eggs these next two games and be 6-5 before we know it. And everyone in here knows it.

So stop with the cakewalk BS.

I agree this team can't afford to take anything for granted we have 2 big games only a few days apart and need to make the most of it. Who we are playing does not matter.

I usually agree with that but you havnt seen Oakland play. We could win with Mcgee playing QB. Seriously.

I live in Calif, trust me I have seen enough LOL...

But, I have seen this Cowboys team play a lot this season and you don't know which team is going to show up.

This offense was struggling against the eglas too. I just thought, "oh it's the egals, their defense is always tough. " But, then Green Bay? I know they had a good defense, but, I sure hope this offense is getting into a slump.

That usually happens around Dec 5. or so.

There's really no worries with this Oakland game. As fans we can talk about cakewalks but no way in hell do I want the players having the same mindset as me. Thier the ones playing. Not me.

"we should beat..."

Don't ever count on any game like, especially with Dallas.

How many losses to teams like Detroit and the Rams does it take for people to realize that there is no such thing as a gimme game for the Dallas Cowboys?

I'm putting a grand on that game. It's a given win. Easy money.

There are no GIMMES in the NFL. I think most people even thought GB was in the bag and look what happened?

Denver probably thought WASH was a GIMME too....left with a LOST.

The ultimate "no gimme" game in history has to be the Giants beating the Patriots in the 07-08 Super Bowl. If that's not enough to make you realize that it's "any given Sunday" then I don't know what is.

Yeah, just had to edit that to keep within the guidelines.

I agree, anytime you have to play 3 games in 12 days, I wouldn't necessarily call it a good thing. Now, the 10 day layoff AFTER the 3 games in 12 days is nice, but I'm not sure it's entirely worth it.

This season, ON PAPER, the 3-game stretch has/had 3 "winnable" games, but as we witnessed on Sunday, well, that's why they play the games.

Oakland also beat Philly in Oakland and Philly has been known to do this against bad teams from time to time. We don't lose to bad teams with Romo starting and not on Thanksgiving. No game is a cakewalk but we are going to have to play pretty bad to lose to Oakland.
