So you think some 22 year old kid can be better at something that no other back in the league is better at than Zeke. He is literally the best in the NFL in those situations and has been for at least the last two years. Yet you seem to think they can just drop any fat back in there and get the job done. If that's the case why don't 31 other teams have a cheap college player doing it? Is moving the chains and scoring in the red zone just not important to any team except Dallas?
I found the running back tree that people talk about The QB and tight end trees are a couple of acres east of it Have been watering them with miracle grow

The myth that he's just a speed back and can't run tough. I think he's more than proven this over the last year. You can't tell me that you haven't seen him run into guys and he is still getting yards. I guess there's just going to forever be that stigma over his head that speed backs are just what they are.

I think he's proven people wrong. I heard Troy Aikman also allude to the fact of how strong he's seen him run. Not that I'm basing anything off what these guys say on TV, but I've seen him do it often. It's time to give him his props!!

He's tougher than what you think, heck he's from Memphis "MANE"
He has above average power.
I think he gets franchised.
We absolutely need to keep him!!!

No.

The biggest difference between him and Zeke is that Pollard is clearly better at everything. I don't care about his muscles.

Zeke is your guy though, so who care about what's best for the team, right?

If you need 1 yard Zeke will get ya 1 yard. If you need 3 yards Zeke will get ya 1 yard.
You should drop clichés not very good at it But Walt will forgive ya

I do have to ask though.. Why does Pollard having a higher YPC in a game bring out this sort of post but when Zeke has the higher average folks are silent about it?
Because it's a freak occurrence when Zeke has a higher average. Pollard has a higher YPA in 90% of games.

It's absolutely silly how stubborn you are about Zeke and Pollard. Just last you called Pollard a "role player", LMAO.

The only people who "acted like that" were you guys when you were constructing your strawmen. And it wasn't once or twice a month.. There were a couple of instances where he got Dak blown up once or twice a game. I think his whiff was what got Dak hurt in this year's opener and I have a vivid memory of his getting trampled twice in the Tampa game last year as well as on the sack fumble against the Chargers. I think he has improved quite a bit over the last two seasons but he still has a ways to go in that department. There is nothing to be gained by pretending he still aint got work to do. But he was good Monday night.. and I hope he continues to be good this Sunday.

I don't know what Zeke has left in the tank and it certainly appears that he may not get refreshed until the offseason. But I do know that whatever he has left he's going to leave it out there on the field. Thankfully the Niners interior D is not QUITE as good as these last three teams we've faced. Not that they are chumps but they aint beasts like Vea and Payne and 'nem. So we might actually get some work done inside this week. I was hoping that Zeke would lose the knee brace for the playoffs too.. That thing aint helpin his burst none either.
Mann...I love how you defend Zeke. He's my dude too. However, I'm realistic. IT AINT THE BRACE. Our boy is going downhill fast because we play him with high expectations that he can no longer live up to. I'm not putting him down. I was soooo happy when we drafted him. I was ecstatic when we drafted Tony Dorsett. All RB slow down. Emmitt Smith was the exception. Our coaches rotate Zeke and Pollard when the best move is to be situational. Zeke has no business being on the field when it's 3rd and long and it's unfair to run him up the middle on 1st down when the whole world expects it.

He's pretty well-rounded. The thing is, with backs you never know how many miles they have within them. Pollard is one of those guys who doesn't have too much mileage, including college. I hope they can work out a team-friendly deal to keep him.

Pollard has shown he runs tough inside too.....much like Dorsett did with his size. The only negative is he cannot pass block well..but that's like saying, "yeah, but Heidi can't cook. "

You guys fascinate me with your ability to construct bogus arguments, attribute them to others then declare yourselves to have been "right." No one has ever said Pollard can't block.. yet yall trot that argument out daily. He is just not as good at it as Zeke but has been improving every year. No one has ever said Pollard can't run inside.. yet yall trot that argument out daily.. He's just not as good at it as Zeke but has been improving every year. No one has ever said he can't play and needs to ride the pine except for a few carries a game. In fact every rational person on this site has said that when he's rollin they need to keep handin him the ball, throwin him the ball.. whatever. What seems to bother yall is that we say the same thing about Zeke.. When he's rollin, they need to ride him.

The "argument" has never been about Pollard being able to do this or that.. The argument has always been and continues to be, how much can you use him before the big plays disappear or he just gets hurt. He's a good player.. I like him on my team.. have ALWAYS liked him on my team. I can find posts from 2020 where I stated that he was a better fit for the offense we were now running than Zeke was. So if you were 2 1/2 years ahead of everyone, I was 6 months ahead of you.

From his first year, Pollard had fantastic contact balance, and he's gotten stronger since then.

Do you want me to go ahead and post the numbers that prove the fallacy of this statement or will you retract it on your own?

I am "stubborn" in my belief that this team needs them both to be successful. You guys are the ones who get bent out of shape because you want one guy to get more playing time and more carries over the other. I have maintained for three years that I don't really care which one gets more playing time as long as my team wins. I have also never wavered from my stance that whichever guy gets rollin should keep being fed. Nor have a wavered in my belief that if Pollard comes in as the change up back and DOESN'T get you a higher yards per carry after the other guy softens up the defense then you need a new change up back. You have issue with the characterization that he is a role player.. What else do you call the guy who doesn't start most games and who generally plays fewer snaps?

I am ecstatic for Pollard that he is going to get a big payday and he has developed into a great player for my favorite team. He seems like a great kid and I love the dynamic between he and Zeke. If Zeke is out there I want him to ball. If Pollard is out there I want him to ball! If Zeke is not on my favorite team next year and Pollard takes over as the lead dog I will scream just as loud for Pollard as I have for Zeke. If it's somebody else I will scream for that guy. I root hard for whoever is wearing the laundry.. You guys are the ones who get bent out of shape over this guy vs that guy. I don't have those problems.
