The 1 reason why I want Tony Romo to play in a game before the end of the season

Is so that the Cowboys fans can give him a proper thank you/send off.

This guy has been our best player for over a decade, taken unfair criticism, and has done it all with complete class and high character.

I'd love for him to get into a home game, whether it be in the regular season or the playoffs, so that the fans can give him a big, long standing ovation. The man deserves it.

Agreed. He deserves a big ovation for all he's done here.

If we have home field wrapped up, I don't see why we wouldn't play him.

But I guess I don't see it the same way, Tony ain't gone from this team yet, and there is no absolute guarantee he is leaving. Doesn't matter what he wants, we have his rights and there is no reason to give him away for a bag of chips.

Let's say we don't get a ring this year, make it to the Super Bowl in 2018 only to have Tony open up a can of whoop *** on us cause he made it there with the team we just gave him away to for nothing. Sorry, thats not very smart.

If Tony Romo plays then it will be because Dak is injured I'm not willing to sacrifice the health of the team's future for an emotional send off.

Tony Romo has never been the best player on our team. If it seems that way it's only because his position has the most influence in the outcome of a game.

The best players since 2006 for the Cowboys have been Jason Witten and Demarcus Ware. During several seasons they have been considered the best at their position.

Tony Romo will enter the Cowboy Ring of Honor quickly. I look forward to the presentation. Let me also say that if it becomes necessary to call upon Tony this season then I have no doubt he will perform spectacularly, and it would be a great end to hia career, I'm just not willing to wish it at the expense of Dak Prescott.

This is bigger then Romo. He had a decade to get it done. The time has passed him by. This team is trying to get to a place they havent been in 21 yrs. A championship. If they get it he will be apart of it just not the way he wanted. Its a shame its under different circumstances but it is what it is. But this team is bigger then him or any other one player. He can mentor Dak and get this team a ring. ut sadly thats the extent of the impact he will have unless a injury knocks Dak out.

I agree, would be nice for him to get a couple of snaps one last time infront of the home crowd.............I highly doubt he will be on the team next year, either he will be released or traded.

They are not going to pay $20 million for a backup QB and they are not going to put Dak on the bench after this type of season. So the only options are for Romo to either retire or go play for another team. In his press conference, he said the fire still burned in his belly so that does not sound like a guy looking to retire.

My guess is he joins Ware with the Denver Broncos next year, their QBs totally suck.

Dallas is not going to pay Romo $20 million to be the backup next year, they just are not going to do that..................so either Romo takes a massive pay cut or he goes somewhere else to play.

That is the business side of the NFL.

If Tony wants an opportunity to play somewhere else, you grant him that wish. End of story. He's earned that much

Nice sentiment but I hope he doesn't start the last game or two. I don't want Dak taking a month off of game action. Let Romo play the 2nd half against the Eagles and call it a day.

If he comes in and he's lights out I think your making a short hook if Dak struggles in a playoff game. I could envision a scenario where we see Tony getting meaningful snaps

Well tony might get sent in a game, but if he is finishing a game, it will mostly be handoffs.
if he starts a game then it is a double edge sword.
1. he might look good and win the game, no ints etc.
2. he might look bad, lose the game and 3 ints
He may not be playing with all the other starters so odds might be against him looking good.

I think he starts, at least, the second half vs Philly. Maybe start after a series or two. Morris as well.

I can see the Eagles selling out to sack him, hopefully he can get in some home field garbage time play in January, and some more GT play on a neutral field in February.

I would like to give him a good workout to see how he does and compare him to Dak in situations where the QB could run the ball like Dak has. I would like to see Tony sprint for the endzone or make a clutch 3rd down run into traffic. If doing well, I wouldn't mind playing 2 QB's during the season although it is unorthodox style of play. If Tony Romo doesn't finish out, I think he's had a luckier sendoff than Joe Theisman had.
