Not late first rounders. Not on a good team. Schoon was never starting over Ferg and Mazi was never starting over Hanskins. Even if we took a guard they would never start over Tyler or Zack.

Taking any other position would have been more impactful.

I don’t disagree I would’ve never taken a tight end on round 2. I don’t have a big board. They do and they followed their board. I just don’t think tight end was a need.

But I stand by there was no one in that second round that was gonna start for us.

Only thing I can think of is they wanted to run two tight end sets. Bills drafted Kincaid with Knox I didn’t get that one either. They wanted La Porta. They clearly wanted something different at tight end…maybe Ferg is a big lights guy?

Top 3 round picks are supposed to contribute in Year 1. Overshown definitely would have contributed had he not torn his ACL during preseason. Mazi and Schoonmaker were disappointing.

Well. If they can develop and a few of them turn into good players. That bodes very well for the cowboys in the future.

I’m still not ready to give up on most of them.

Especially Overshown. If he fully recovers from the ACL tear. He will be a starting LB for us. A good one. IMO

Also. It’s way too early on Mazi. Yeah he isn’t good right now. But I still feel like he can develop into a good NT.
