You can easily make the case rthe Cowboys are worse than the 9-7 team of last season...
They gave up 55 sacks last season WITH All World Larry Allen...this season - we have two Detroit castoffs and a 7th rd pick comepeting for the job and a washed up stiff in Fabini at RT ....

Drew Bledsoe & Glenn are a year older...and TO is a headcase....

I have at us a 8-8 this season with Tony Romo taking over in week 7

You have no credibility. The team may be over hyped and I may be a homer but Larry Allen hasn't been all-Dallas in 3 years, let alone all world. Are you one of those lurking Foreskin fans? The O-Line isn't going to be great but it only has to be competent with the skill position players. I guess you liked Torrin Tucker and Pettiti and an unhealthy Rivera better, so be it.

Unfortunately some of the national media thinks you can mix T.O. with a pile of dogpoo and it will make instant superbowl championship. I'm not saying the Cowboys are dogpoo, rather I think the national media is. WRs don't win championships, but they do win the support of the media.

Estridge predicted 8-8 on GaC today although he's a noted BP hater.

And I think some people forget how explosive TO can make this offense. Not that he necessarily will, but if he gets 70 catches and 12 TDs, and the o-line is better...not even dominant, just slightly above average..then there is plenty enough talent on this team to go to the Superbowl...it will all come down to how far BP, TO, and Bledsoe can take them. All three of those guys will have to make the right choices in big moments.

No it will come down to how far a defense can take us that is the strength of the team then it comes down to the kicking game because bill plays it tight to the vest great defense good offense and a kickikng game

I wouldn't, getting overhyped won't help you win any more games...but it could help you lose some. Only way getting so much hype will help you is if your opponent believes it.

I'd rather be overlooked, easier to catch opponents off-guard and win more games, especially on the road.

I don't really think any team "overlooks" any opponent in the NFL. The hype has negligible effect, in my opinion. Being hyped up is just fun for us fans, who get to rub it in other fans' faces.

IGNORE ! IGNORE !

But seriously folks, ... this is obviously a fan of another team.

Noone that bleeds blue & silver, and has watched the growth of the Cowboys the past two seasons looks at them in this light.

Plus nobody that understands football wants Romo over Bledsoe at this point.

We may all want him to be the QB of the future, but anyone that knows what is going on realizes he is not as ready as Bledsoe.

Stop...you wanna talk Cowboys with me - I'll bury you on every topic and every point in our beautiful history....the reason I'm this angry and negative is b/c of our greatness and history....and b/c of our high standards of winning...

I wouldn't be here everyday ...if I didn't love the team - however I don't love THIS team...Bledsoe is a castoff....Parcells has always been an enemy IMO....I have a hard time lovin this club.

in some circles...

That's my opinion anyway.

I'm pretty darn surprised at all the Super Bowl talk we are generating
amongst writers.

Guess I'm still operating in the 20th century mentality that says teams don't usually come out of nowhere (read as missed the playoffs the previous year) to go to much less win a SB. I know its a new day, and been done very recently. But still...

And I suppose that someone needs to be picked, and yeah we're maybe as good a choice as any, but I still think the less risky favorites are the Panthers & Seahawks.

Yes our D was much improved in 05 vs 04. Yes, I think it could progress to great this year. And I'm hopeful of that. But its on paper.

Yeah, TO is obviously a talented addition. And we've tried to right the O-line but have no great confidence, much less proof, that the 06 version will hold-up. Same story at kicker where we spent a lot of bucks but are worried week 1 it might cost us that game.

Anyway, I'm hopeful. I really am. But this isn't 1992 when we followed up a late 01 surge with the same head of steam in 92 and finally got someone to pick us to make the SB (Bradshaw), but not until we were in the NFC Title game.

Not trying to stir controversy. Just calling it like I see it. We've got a lot to prove. I suppose most others do as well. So, yeah, it could be our year.

Who's "out of nowhere"? We were 9-7 last year with one of the toughest schedules in the league and had defeated Carolina and were a missed FG from defeating Seattle-- the two teams in the NFC title game. We also added 7 free agents and multiple draft choices and have talent at QB, LOT, CB, pass rusher, RB, and WR. If not us, then who and for what compelling reason?

Hooray for internet search engines. That means absolutely nothing. I could answer trivia questions about teams I know zilch about with the aid of google, etc.

You're not a fan of this team. You're an annoying cesspool of misinformation.

You people obviously don't live in the Dallas area and hear the Dallas sportsradio guys (and girl) daily.

Today the sportsradio people did their predictions and I don't think I heard one person predict the cowboys would do better than 10-6... in fact, almost every one of them had the Cowboys going 9-7 or worse.

SO, as far as the media goes here in Dallas... I think they are underestimated.

DFW media has always been pessimists about the Cowboys, winning or not. They would rather see them lose so they can say they were right. Than to win and be wrong.

If you love the TEAM, then you BACK the players. You don't have to like them. But they are talented and will help us win.

If you are a REAL fan like you say, you wouldn't be so negative on EVERY post.

IF you could run this team, what would you do, how would you build it. And don't say cut Bledsoe, TO, fire Bill, or any thing like that JUST because you don't like them. Look at their talent and what they bring. IF your so knowledgeable, let's hear it. What would you do?

Nice try, but I'm not buying it.

X-Dawg used to be a fan...

But he even said it -- He's not anymore.

You may watch us and root for us, but you're not one of us because DEEP DOWN you want us to fail.

And BP to get fired, and Romo to start, and...

Landry to come back?:laugh1:

It's 2006 yo, welcome to the world

With an OL like ours.......to suggest a SuperBowl appearance is overhyping IMO. Not gonna happen and the OL will be the reason. Let's hope I'm wrong, but I never am.

I agree with you as being overhyped from a proven standpoint CoCo. But with the assemblage of the 2006 Cowboys we could live up to the hype. By the way weather conditions here in Jacksonville today:

Today's temperature will be in the muggy high 80s, 50% chance of rain in terms of passing showers.

Alltel Stadium despite being renovated is really considered a new stadium due to the substantial expansion and improvements including a state of the art drainage system for the grass field. I think both teams will play despite possible wet conditions.

The NFC sucks, we should be hyped as much as anyone else.
