Truth? Where? That refs dictate the game more than the players? Ya i don't know about you but that is just a joke. Home court advantage is having a crowd behind you. Not having refs on your side. So with your logic, the Magic will win three straight at home. Afterall they will get all the calls and Kobe will be *****ing as usual. There's no possible way for the Fakers to win now. It's the Finals. Refs favor the home team. Ok got it. Ya that's fun to watch.

Listen, on the road you got to beat the crowd and the refs. That's the mentality you need to win a championship. Superstars get the calls. Jordan got em. Hell, Patrick Ewings standard move was a travel. It's the way it is. If you don't like it, don't watch. Your boy Howard will get this treatment too. He's young and very good. The problem with the Magic so far in this series has been the guard play and relying on the 3. They could also as use a low post game from Lewis.

In the case of Howard, be basically blocked the shot by coming up through the rim to stop the stuff. It was clearly goal tending and it directly impacted the play.

In the case of Gasol, he got his hand stuck in the net on a rotation and it looked to me like he got the rim but the the ball was layed off the blass and it basically travel past the goal, having been shot off the glass and never touched the rim. I think it was probably a goal tend as well but because the ball never touched the iron, it didn't effect the shot or the outcome of the trajectory.

:hammer:

Some pictures are worth a thousand words (like the Howard "block" I posted) but you summed both up very well. Thank you.

I didn't see the play as I'm not longer an NBA fan, but if there was any contact between the defender and the ball, or the defender and the rim, it is clearly a goaltending violation. Especially if the ball hits the rim.

There was no contact between the defender and the ball.

Touching the net has nothing to do with goal tending, but as far as rim contact the rules state:

"Vibrate the rim or backboard so as to cause the ball to make an unnatural bounce."

That didn't happen either. The rim didn't vibrate because of Gasol's contact and it certainly didn't alter the shot.

You are not allowed to touch the rim at all due to movement of the rim can cause a ball that could go in, not too. It should also count for the net as you can easily pull on the net and move the entire backboard.

Both should be goaltending.

Correct. On Dwight's (pictured) no call in the 1st qtr he clearly touched the ball bringing his hand up through the bottom of the rim. Had his hand not been cat napping in the net Pau's dunk would have been textbook.

That Pau no call at the end of the game wasn't even close. He did nothing to alter the path of the Courtney Lee brick which didn't even come close to touching the rim.

Well, as I said earlier, I thought it was goal tending but I don't think it effected the shot at all. If Gasol had never touched the net or the iron, I think that ball comes off and misses everything regardless.

Should be and are, being two different different things.

Read the rules yourself, as written in the rule book:

http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_11.html

Touching the rim, backboard, net, etc. are not expressly illegal in and of themselves.

I wish I could no longer be a fan on the NBA...it's as fake as wrestling and there's no justice if Kobe wins it all. The guy is just a straight dousch as a person. Sold out Shaq..his character is pathetic.
Aw man get over yourself. You sound like the ultimate hater. You talk of character but you had no problem rooting for Pac-man, Tank and TO last season. I will enjoy watching you squirm when Kobe wins his 4th title without Shaq. Speaking of character and Shaq, he cheated on his wife numerous times but you hate on Kobe.

I wish they would let them play a little more in the playoffs. the refs have too much power in these games. with that said I think LA got the better end of the calls in game 2 but even with those the Magic had there shot to beat them and blew it. this series is over so i'm gonna watch the yankees at the Redsox tonight.
