Watching them in warm-up last week before the Texans game I have to say that it looked to me like Bledsoe's arm is as much stronger than Henson's as Henson's is stronger than Romo's. Watching them throw the 30 yard out pattern in practice Bledsoe was throwing it on a rope time and again. Henson had more arc on his ball demonstrating less velocity (i.e. a weaker arm) and Romo had even more arc on his. I will add to that though that NONE of them looked to have a weak arm per se; it is just that Bledsoe has an unbelievable arm. So I have to disagree that their arms are on a par.

Henson is more mobile or more deft of foot but he has not yet developed those little moves in the pocket that will help him avoid the rush. I do believe that they will come. Right now Romo seems to be the best of the three at avoiding the rush in the pocket.

Overall Henson looks the most like a prototypical QB of the three. He has the size and arm strength in combination with the quick feet that SHOULD make him a great QB. Now if he can demonstrate the vision, awareness, control, leadership and all of the other little things that go into making a great QB he might very well become a more talented QB than Bledsoe. But since all of those things figure into a QB's talent, right now I would have to say that he is not more talented.

It is difficult for me to know how much of Henson's arm strength is effected by the change in Mechanics. I will say that he appeared to have much more velocity on his throws prior to this season but, if Bledsoe does in fact have the stronger arm, I would not be surprised. Not many QBs have ever had the kind of arm strength he has.

The other stuff you mention is what I would catagorize as other then physical ability. I agree with you. The intangibles and the experience make Bledsoe the better QB, at this point. There is no dispute there. My point, as stated earlier, is strickly from a physical stand point.

So if Bledsoe has the stronger arm, and they are pretty much the same size, and Bledsoe moves around in the pocket better solely due to his experience...what, physically about Henson makes him "talented"?

I mean it's not like every guy that is 6'5" and somewhat athletic is automatically going to be a good QB...I don't equate height with talent.

I dont get you.

I am a big Henson fan, not for what he has accomplished but what I "think" his potential is.

I am not in denial, Romo had a better camp and will be named the back up QB. No big deal.

Does not mean that Romo will ever amount to anything or that Henson will not amount to anything.

It proves exactly nothing.

Henson has thrown 18 passes in the NFL and Romo has thrown zero passes in the NFL.

I have not seen a QB in the NFL prove anything yet with 18 or zero passes thrown in NFL games.

I hope Romo does well. I dont care who steps up at QB as long as someone does.

You on the other hand want someone to step up alright, but only if it is the guy that you happen to be a fan of.

You my friend are the one in denial. I'm just a Cowboy fan.

Bravo, well put. Nors is more interested in himself than the team.

Bledsoe's ability to move is restricted to moving around in the pocket IMO. He is not a QB who will ever be able to put pressure on a defense with sprint outs or scrams. Henson really has excellent mobility. It has not been demonstrated simply because he has not mastered the base offense, to this point. Henson can run and he can throw on the run. His athleticisam is really much better then Bledsoe's. Assuming Henson developes and is able to start, we are going to be able to use his ability to run and throw on the run in our offense. It will create more pressure on the defense. Simply put, he's a much better athlete then Bledsoe.

I thought two things set Romo apart this offseason. Footwork and knowledge of the offense. He looked like he knew what he was supposed to do every play and did it. Did he always execute it right? No, but he was confident in what he was doing.

Henson, on the other hand, looked distracted. Distracted by the rush, worrying about his mechanics, I don't know. His footwork wasn't as crisp.

I still have hope for Henson to develop (and Romo too because I don't think he is there yet either), but if the value was there in the draft, I wouldn't be afraid to pull the trigger next year unless some other massive hole opens up.

Assuming Petitti and Davis prove to be adequate, I think the team will be looking OLB (or ILB depending on where Burnett ultimately lands), WR, QB and G. Depth at corner, safety, TE and NT would be great as well.

I actually don't want to see us take a QB early because we will have to let one of them go and I think we have two good ones behind Bledsoe now. I would rather sign Romo to an extension at #2 money and Keep what we have for another year to see what becomes of Henson.

I agree we need to draft for the OL for depth and potential replacements for LA and Rivera who are getting a little long in the tooth. I think we need to get depth and maybe a starter for both OLB positions and we need to get a CB to develop to take over for A. Glenn (also long in the tooth). I don't know yet if Reeves is that guy but se still need depth. I don't know that we need to worry about TE next year with Pierce coming on this year and Witten is still young. And as for NT we need to find out how "Pepper" develops, but again depth is never a bad thing.

I have said for some time that WR should be our priority next year and at this point it still looks that way to me. If we sign Price it will be much less so but we still need to be looking for that big possession receiver to replace Keyshawn in a couple of years.
