So, mens and assorted ruffians here, you want T.O to leave?

Sometimes I wish that too. But then I come back to my senses.
I envision a world without T.O. wearing the star. And this is what it could look like.

DALLAS -- Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips today acknowledged that the 2009 season will be a long one if the passing game keeps regressing.
The Cowboys have Witten and Roy Williams as their primary receivers, but with Witten covered and often double-teamed and Roy Williams forgetting his routes, Tony Romo managed only 120 yards passing. After those two receivers, the talent level takes a steep drop.
In the offseason, the Cowboys shipped off Miles Austin to Miami for future draft choices and Terrell Owens signed a two-year deal with the New York Giants after the Cowboys dumped him.
"This is where I was meant to be," a beaming Owens said Monday in the media capital of the world where he was busy signing endorsement deals.
In Dallas, there was already some friction.
"I know what I can do and i want the ball!" Crayton shouted angrily after the first game of the season in which Dallas ran a running attack using Felix Jones and Tashard Choice while Phillips allowed Barber to "rest" to weather the long season ahead.

OR

T.O. signs with . . . Philly.

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles, who have their 2008 roster intact and are among the favorites to make it to the playoffs, have astounded the football world by re-signing Terrell Owens.
Owens, flanked by a smiling Donovan McNabb and an excited Brian Westbrook, said he and his two fellow players form the trinity of one of the most dangerous combinations in football.
"Everyone on the team, everyone in the city, is excited," McNabb said. "We let bygones be bygones and everybody is ready to take the NFL East." And he added, "Playing the Cowboys will be an extra treat for the trio. We look forward to hanging a big L on the Cowboys twice this year."

Or

BOSTON -- And the rich get richer.
The New England Patriots signed wide receiver Terrell Owens, who, after being dumped by the Dallas Cowboys, said he wanted to play for a "contender."
"And contender is not even in the same vocabulary with Cowboys" said Owens, who launched his "Popcorn Time" merchandising line in Boston that same day.

OR

PHOENIX -- Larry Fitzgerald can't be double-teamed anymore.
He has Terrell Owens on the other side of the field and both expect an avalance of footballs thrown at them this year.
"No one will be able to defend us," a beaming Owens told reporters at the recent signing of the wide receiver dumped by Dallas.
Antwan Boldin, who soured on the Cardinals after Fitzgerald become THE passing target last year, was in Dallas today after he was traded for Owens.
"All I know is that I came here under duress and I expect to have the ball thrown to me as a No. 1 receiver. Treat me like a man!" he shouted to a surprised and silent Wade Phillip. . . .

or maybe Owens will just sign with the Commanders....

All these scenarios just make me sick.

Keep T.O. and prosper
Dump T.O. and see if our secondardy can cope with him. I don't think so, Newman.

I don't think any of those teams would touch him.

Those teams are already good teams. Why risk what they have going for them?

If TO is out of Dallas he will go to a mid-level team that is hoping for a shot.

...and honesty, all of those scenarios are possible. I have asked if we cut T.O. who will teams double cover? Roy? Please, my friend is a die hard Detroit fan, and he says Roy can't run sharp routes because he has big feet. Nevertheless, find a replacement, then let him go. Until then Support the STAR and the players that WANT to wear it!

My brother also lives in Detroit. Watches all the Lions ball games with his wife's family, and he says we should be happy with our problems. . . at least we had a winning record.

Anyway, He said Roy's big advantages are because of his physique his is great with acrobatic catches, and if you throw it up high, he has a pretty good vertical leap so most of the time he comes down with the ball. But, the big knock on Roy Williams in Detroit is that he was slow. Roy even openly admitted it when he was signed here. Now slow is a relative thing . . . his 40 time between 4.37-4.43 at the combine. But my brother compared him speed wise to Keyshawn Johnson. Even worse, he said Roy never had the strength to out muscle cornerbacks at the line of scrimmage, so if you got a good jam on him, he was essentially useless. They also said he was injury prone.

Just conveying miscellaneous info . . . I will now put on a flame suit and duck . . .

I can appreciate humor. And I can appreciate colloquialisms and regionalisms.

But your reply borders on a stereotype of the worst kind. I know you did not mean what your reply implies. And what i infer. . . .

:(

I am not one of those who can claim to be certain the Cowboys will be better without Owens. I don't even know if they'll be as good. But I believe him to be a team wrecker, and I remember the old adage: How do you get out of a hole? First, stop digging.

I think it's time to stop digging.

Gosh, what would we do without a 36 year old WR who ranked 26th is in the NFL in yards and ranked 28th leading WR in receptions.

Just find a way to make due with just one Pro Bowl caliber WR, a Pro Bowl caliber QB, an All Pro caliber TE (maybe the best in the game), a Pro Bowl caliber RB, a TE we just spent a 2nd rounder on, a young stable of complimentary RB's and an offensive line that's put three of the five starters in the Pro Bowl.

I guess maybe we could finish 2-14.

Really??....maybe you should ask some of the Ney York Giants how overrated a true number one receiver is.

Don't be so generous. We'll probably only win one game with the garbage supporting cast around Owens..I doubt we'll ever win a game without him:rolleyes:

I wish we could say the same. We got two #1 WR's and one #1 TE.

WR's scored the winning TD's in the last two Super Bowls.
