Don't be so generous. We'll probably only win one game with the garbage supporting cast around Owens..I doubt we'll ever win a game without him:rolleyes:

If the Boyz get rid of TO...I think the Dallas Cowboys will fold as an organization and either have to move or go out of business.

And that makes me sad...

So, mens and assorted ruffians here, you want T.O to leave?

Sometimes I wish that too. But then I come back to my senses.
I envision a world without T.O. wearing the star. And this is what it could look like.

DALLAS -- Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips today acknowledged that the 2009 season will be a long one if the passing game keeps regressing.
The Cowboys have Witten and Roy Williams as their primary receivers, but with Witten covered and often double-teamed and Roy Williams forgetting his routes, Tony Romo managed only 120 yards passing. After those two receivers, the talent level takes a steep drop.
In the offseason, the Cowboys shipped off Miles Austin to Miami for future draft choices and Terrell Owens signed a two-year deal with the New York Giants after the Cowboys dumped him.
"This is where I was meant to be," a beaming Owens said Monday in the media capital of the world where he was busy signing endorsement deals.
In Dallas, there was already some friction.
"I know what I can do and i want the ball!" Crayton shouted angrily after the first game of the season in which Dallas ran a running attack using Felix Jones and Tashard Choice while Phillips allowed Barber to "rest" to weather the long season ahead.

OR

T.O. signs with . . . Philly.

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles, who have their 2008 roster intact and are among the favorites to make it to the playoffs, have astounded the football world by re-signing Terrell Owens.
Owens, flanked by a smiling Donovan McNabb and an excited Brian Westbrook, said he and his two fellow players form the trinity of one of the most dangerous combinations in football.
"Everyone on the team, everyone in the city, is excited," McNabb said. "We let bygones be bygones and everybody is ready to take the NFL East." And he added, "Playing the Cowboys will be an extra treat for the trio. We look forward to hanging a big L on the Cowboys twice this year."

Or

BOSTON -- And the rich get richer.
The New England Patriots signed wide receiver Terrell Owens, who, after being dumped by the Dallas Cowboys, said he wanted to play for a "contender."
"And contender is not even in the same vocabulary with Cowboys" said Owens, who launched his "Popcorn Time" merchandising line in Boston that same day.

OR

PHOENIX -- Larry Fitzgerald can't be double-teamed anymore.
He has Terrell Owens on the other side of the field and both expect an avalance of footballs thrown at them this year.
"No one will be able to defend us," a beaming Owens told reporters at the recent signing of the wide receiver dumped by Dallas.
Antwan Boldin, who soured on the Cardinals after Fitzgerald become THE passing target last year, was in Dallas today after he was traded for Owens.
"All I know is that I came here under duress and I expect to have the ball thrown to me as a No. 1 receiver. Treat me like a man!" he shouted to a surprised and silent Wade Phillip. . . .

or maybe Owens will just sign with the Commanders....

All these scenarios just make me sick.

Keep T.O. and prosper
Dump T.O. and see if our secondardy can cope with him. I don't think so, Newman.

OR....we cut him and he soon finds out that owners have seen his routine enough and now no team wants him .....

Really??....maybe you should ask some of the Ney York Giants how overrated a true number one receiver is.

yup when your number one is suddenly not there, it hurts.
When you have time to work with it, not so much.

...and honesty, all of those scenarios are possible. I have asked if we cut T.O. who will teams double cover? Roy? Please, my friend is a die hard Detroit fan, and he says Roy can't run sharp routes because he has big feet. Nevertheless, find a replacement, then let him go. Until then Support the STAR and the players that WANT to wear it!

My brother also lives in Detroit. Watches all the Lions ball games with his wife's family, and he says we should be happy with our problems. . . at least we had a winning record.

Anyway, He said Roy's big advantages are because of his physique his is great with acrobatic catches, and if you throw it up high, he has a pretty good vertical leap so most of the time he comes down with the ball. But, the big knock on Roy Williams in Detroit is that he was slow. Roy even openly admitted it when he was signed here. Now slow is a relative thing . . . his 40 time between 4.37-4.43 at the combine. But my brother compared him speed wise to Keyshawn Johnson. Even worse, he said Roy never had the strength to out muscle cornerbacks at the line of scrimmage, so if you got a good jam on him, he was essentially useless. They also said he was injury prone.

Just conveying miscellaneous info . . . I will now put on a flame suit and duck . . .

Thanks for that comment. And to add to that I would like to provide a link
http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2008/09/roy_williams_takes_another_sho.html
that mentions the same information about Roy and his route running, and other items that I mentioned earlier. I wasn't trying to be funny "5 Stars", I was just making the comment that before we get rid of ANY of our exsiting WR's, we need to make sure we know what we got in ROY...and it probably wouldn't hurt to hear what FANS from Detroit were saying about number 11.

the Eagles,Patriots, and Cards have no problem getting the ball to there #1 wrs. they don't need 81. you guys act like we will not be able to do anything on offense without him. go look at how teams with no #1 wrs have had success. wr is the most overrated position in football.

team like NYG who won a whole game after Burress got suspended?

Face it those teams who do ain't got our coaching staff and that's where the problem is, if Garrett can't get TO the ball do you honestly think he can get Roy the ball?

yes but we need 3 things to happen

#1 run the ball more(that's easy)

#2 o-line has to block better especially late in the year

#3 Roy has to run better routes(don't know about this cause his feet are so big it looks like he's wearing clown shoes)

the titans did what we did in 2007 with nothing at wr. the only team out of the final 4 this year that had a true top level #1 wr was Arizona.

The Titans have a very good o line, d line and IMO the best HC in football, we have none of that

well having him make up for that hasn't done anything for us. so what's the big deal? him being on our team hasn't overcome our poor coaching or poor o-line/d-line play. basically it's a waste of 10 million a year.

There's no need to re-sign Ware either then...

waste of 10mill would be cutting him when we have absolutely no way to replace him right now, he's not the problem coaching is. TO is not to balme for everyone taking shots ar Garrett, Garrett is.

There's a good chance we lose Austin as well would you really feel confident going into the season with Roy, Crayton, Hurd and Stanback? the cap money spent on TO is spent no matter what, staying... leaving, it makes no difference cap wise, we can't replace him

I love this stupid arguement that the t.o. fanboys keep saying. is Ware 35 years old and declining?

does Ware complain about coaches and teammates?

we don't have to replace him. everybody has to step up and we need to stop running our offense through a freaking wr.

out of the playoff teams how many run there offenses through a wr?

nyg - no
carolina - no
minnesota - no
Arizona - yes
Atlanta - no
Philly - passing offense but not through 1 wr so no

Pitt - no
Tenn. - no
Miami - no
SD - no
Indy - just like philly
Balt. - no
