That's not really true.
Parcells was a mixed bag as a roster builder.
He had some huge draft hits (Ware/Witten) and some notorious misses --Carpenter/Rogers et al.
He added a ton of aging vets when he took over and most of them proved awful quickly.
He tried to force a quick turn around and that pretty much failed but he did leave some very nice building blocks around along with some gaping holes.
He brought in a couple failed QBs and waited too long to give the ball to Romo.
Wade took over a VERY veteran roster lead by 30+ year old OL at 4 spots and Terrell Owens as WR1.
Wade lead us to our best 2 regular season records in 20 years but those teams were definitely declining in talent.
He obviously finished up here in a disaster of a season but as bad as that was he still finished 34-22 here and won our only playoff game in FOREVER.
Garrett has lost the same number of games with 10 fewer wins.
Parcells was far from perfect. In the 2003 draft, he wanted Dewayne Robertson over Terrance Newman; but the scouts won. In the second round, the scouts were screaming for Jason Witten , but Parcells went with center Al Johnson. Somehow, Witten slid to the third round.
In 2004, he bypassed Steven Jackson for trading down and taking Julius Jones.
In 2005, Dallas had two first rounders, and he wanted Marcus Spears at 11, but begrudgingly took DeMarcus Ware first. Spears was the pick at 19; and he left Aaron Rodgers on the board. Remember, Tony Romo had yet to take a regular season snap at that time.
And in 2006, he went with linebacker Bobby Carpenter in the first because he coached his father. I hate to pile on Parcells, but he was a far better coach than team builder.
