This is a case of 2 independent issues being true at the same time.
1 independent truth: Dak plays “tight” in the playoffs.

2nd independent truth: our defense plays bad in the playoffs.

Me personally, I feel Dak, CD and Micah are more flash than substance. All 3 are regular season stat padders and POOF, gone, David Copperfield disappearing acts in the playoffs and against top competition. This is why I don’t want to sign any of them to long term deals. They’re not gamers, they don’t rise to the occasion, they shrink under the spotlight. This is why I feel paying these guys top dollar will cripple the franchise. What’s the point of great players that disappear in the playoffs?

Dak is a choker. But independent of that so is CD, Micah, McCarthy and the defense. I don’t mind us purging the roster of these guys I just wish we weren’t throwing away 2024 to do it. Just do it now.

Dak wouldn’t play so tight if our defense would step up and not put us in a hole on the oppositions opening drive. When our defense plays well during the regular season so has Dak. Once we get behind and the defense is struggling he starts to press. We saw the same thing with Romo and it leads to turnovers.

Most of the players out there were starters. LaFeur grabbed his heart when the game was over. He thought his team was going to blow the lead. Lol Dak didn’t quit!

That was the only playoff game under Dak where the defense played respectably. That game was entirely in Dak but the 2021 SF playoff loss was a different story. Our defense was the main reason we lost that game. Our defense sucked! We got road graded for 169 yards on the ground and didn’t sack Jimmy G once. He didn’t even play good and SF was still able to win because they destroyed us in the trenches. You haven’t mentioned the defense once, You’re focus is entirely on Dak. This fan base won’t be happy with our next QB because nothing will change until we build a great defense and I don’t see that happening under Zimmer.

That was the only playoff game under Dak where the defense played respectably. That game was entirely in Dak but the 2021 SF playoff loss was a different story. The video is focusing entirely on Dak but nothing said about our defensive performances which have been the number one reason why we keep faltering in the playoffs. The dope who put together that video obviously doesn’t have much of a clue or doesn’t follow the Cowboys if he thinks our playoff woes fall entirely on Dak. Funny that he brings up the next generation of QBs and shows a clip of Josh Allen who’s had his share of playoff struggles.

Low educated fans only understand watching the QB.

Dak put up a Cowboys playoff record 403 yards with 41 completions and we scored 32 points but our defense couldn’t stop the Packers.

That came after the game was over. The Cowboys got loose when they knew it was over. The Packers also played differently. Similar to when we scored 16 points against the Broncos a few years ago after the game was over and they had a 31-0 lead. Broncos went into a different defense, none of it mattered.

Other teams catch up after being down early. We never do until the game is over. It doesn't matter what the defense does because the offense isn't striking back.

Question is will jerry pay him this time? along with the no trade or franchise clauses?

As for choking, I liked a couple of above posts about that, it usually is the whole team that chokes, or the HC game plan
is so bad and preparation is so bad, they just play sloppy and lose big, not a choke though.

We struck back for 32 points but our defense couldn’t keep them out of the endzone. Hold them to a couple of FG’s and the game wouldn’t have gotten so out of hand.

Already been over that game. The only one where our defense was respectable. Our D sucked in all the other losses. Funny how some of you keep going back to that game but ignore the other games where the defense was garbage.
