The ballad of Mike Zimmer

and the next time we play a good team, if we play the way we did today we'll lose, just like last week and just like week one

not everybody in the league is as sorry as Houston and Tennessee

David

If we play a good team as well as we did the texans today 9 out of 10 times we will win.

If we force that other team to put up the same stats and have a plus 3 Turnover ratio we will win.

So I guess you just can't bring yourself to give credit for a job well done no matter who the opponent is.

However I bet you are willing to bash away if they do bad no matter who the opponent is.

What were you saying about agenda again?

:hammer:

This guy is transparent

ok, the spin doctor boneheads are right and I am wrong

this is clearly Doomsday reincarnated...thank God for Zimmer! We stomped on the lowly Texans!

Don't blame us because you have a massive agenda against Zimmer, and not one you can back up very well at that.

Your thread was about today's game against the Houston texans in which the defense allowed Houston to cross midfield three times

Bye now

Reading isn't your strong suit, is it?

This thread was about the fact that team recorded zero sacks against one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Care to dispute that?

Just so you know, "UHH DUHH WE HELD EM TA 232 YARDS (yes, it was 232, not 162) AND 6 POINTS!1!!!" is not going to help your argument against that.

Why do you feel the need to call someone a bonehead because they don't agree with you.

Why do you feel the need to exaggerate and say this is doomsday reincarned when nobody is saying they are.

Why is it just so hard for you to admit they played well today and give a little credit where it was due even if it was against a lowly texan team?

I guarentee you if the same lowly texan team ripped us to shreds you would be bashing away.

I can, can you?

It is warrented today though, against a team as bad as the Texans, the Cowboys had ZERO quarterback sacks.

Not only did they have zero quarterback sacks, but they weren't even close to Carr but maybe one or two times.

Now, as we all know, David Carr is one of the tougher QB's in the league to sack, but that is simply no excuse.

Bob Dole has heard people all year long with these tiresome "Ware vs. Merriman", "Is Marcus Spears a bust?" discussions.

The fact of the matter is this - there is NOBODY out there that can tell Bob Dole with a straight face that this defense doesn't have the talent to be causing havoc on opposing QB's.

Not one mention of anything except today's game

You also said...

Well taking a guy from a 108 qb rating and two total ints this year to a 37 qb rating and two ints in one game....seems like creating havoc to me.

No, and I never did. I'm saying you are a clueless neanderthal who apparently thinks sacks are the end all to a good defense

When a defense does well against a team and you REFUSE to give credit...seems like you too have trouble seeing the forest for the trees.

Yeah, what kind of IDIOT would think that successful defenses need to have a consistant pass rush.

THAT WOULD BE STUPID~!

I've said all along they played ok, what the heck do you want me to say?

good job stopping the run...good job not giving up long pass plays...nice goalline stand in the 1st qtr

but again there's no pass rush to speak of whatsoever, and other than basically one half vs Washington there hasnt been one since the Seattle preseason game...you dont consistently beat good offensive teams and go far in the postseason if you cant rush the passer...instead you see what we've seen for years...there's more than enough talent for this defense to be better than this

today is fine, but the way they played defense wont work every week because we WILL be playing teams alot better than the Texans

Backed up for years, eh?

Zimmer has produced 4 top 10 defenses in 6 years as DC (Including the #1 defense in 2003), and his only truely bad year was 2004 when we had an injury at just about every position.

Next time, maybe do a little research

I gave them credit for being ok...

again, they played OK against one of the worst teams in football...they playe d"ok" vs Washington (without their best player) and ok vs Tennessee (with a rookie QB making his first start ever)...also two of the weaker teams in football

against the two decent teams we did play, the defense was poor

Yes, it would be stupid to think sacks is what makes defenses great, especially considering that Zimmer has averaged a top 10 defense in his 6 years despite never having a great pass rush
