In my opinion, this team is obviously headed in the right direction. Amy other year, we'd be contending for home field advantage. Some cards have not flipped in our favor this year, but nobody can say this team is the same team of the past few years.

When I step back and look at the bigger picture in regards to this team's future, I can't help but be happy and excited.

I'm excited to see some real draft firepower put into the defense. I'm excited to see this young, mean offensive line get more experience playing together. I'm excited to see Dez get signed.

Yes, losing to Philly sucks. But ultimately, we're still in this race this year, and the way things are looking, we should be for the next several years as well.

I largely agree. We half done great this year and I, for won, won't let the Philly game make me think that we are not headed in the right direction.

However, from here until the end of December, the Colts, ***skins and Philly worry me.

Gotcha but still, if we don´t make the playoffs with a mostly healthy team after starting 6-1 and 8-3 there could be changes don´t you think? and I mean big changes.
Specially if we end up 8-8 or 9-7.

I think whatever happens, Jerra, Mr. Good-Hearted Owner, will gift Jason Garrett another year.

Every team has blowout losses. Heck the Manning Broncos lost 22-7 to the Rams a few weeks ago.

We picked a bad time, sure, but it happens.

I fully expect a much better game against the Bears and to finish the season.

Sorry, I was vague. It was a rhetorical response to the, "We'll get 'em next year" maxim in the OP's post.

The guy who makes this all work is aging and working through injury more and more. So the idea this team will draft great and Dallas can repeat this surprising season isn't a given.

Exactly and that's why I advocate doing whatever the team needs to do cap wise to take advantage of this window, even it hinders us a few years. I know that might be an unpopular point of view, maybe even irresponsible, but I'll take a two or three year gamble with Romo rather than having a well cap managed team with the next Chad Hutchinson.

I know there's no guarantees either way - but that's where I lean.
