I think it's kind of weird they don't hire women who are more knowledgeable about football. As a woman, it'd be a refreshing change. Taylor Stern grew on me because she would at least talk more about the players on a personal level, but I guess they hire these women primarily for their looks and camera-friendliness.

Christie Scales is pretty knowledgeable but the misogynist out there won't give her a chance so they gave up long ago on including her on these shows and frankly she's not interested.

Obvious she is the eye candy. The men can be all shapes with their weight, but doesn't apply to the women on the break or talkin cowboys. Gotta be thin, young, etc. Oh well, she seems really nice. She has that. lol.

the shows are responsible for people not taking women seriously since SO MANY OF THEM SHOULDN'T be taken seriously. When 19 out of 20 stink it up it is understandable why they do not give the next one a chance. So your argument about misogyny is without any real substantial support.

Talkin' Cowboys is back too. I was curious to see how Mickey would respond to Taylor Stern coming aboard as the moderator and this first episode went as I suspected, Mickey mostly ignoring Taylor, never looking in her direction and her brushing him off as the curmudgeon that he is.

I think they are supposed to act as a buffer for ppl who don't know football... they ask stupid questions, and the novice listener learns something.

That is a misogynistic point of view. It doesn't matter how many women they put out there that end up not being your cup of tea. I confess I enjoy the fireworks those to generate from each other. As an audio podcast it may not play out as well as it does on camera but the looks they give each other and the face palms are epic. I'm waiting for the day Mickey strokes out mid sentence like that old drug cartel guy did on Better Call Saul.

I didn't say that and you are just being obtuse.

To be fair, you responded to the user saying, "You misogynist out there" so I took it as you were calling him and others who dislike the new female host, misogynistic, which I think is an unfair categorization.

All of those Cowboys shows seem awkward to me because there is always one person who has the most experience either with football or doing tv/radio on football and they seem more focused on being the top expert in the group rather than working with the group.

I haven't listen to her yet so I cannot comment on her, but when I do, if I don't like her, it won't be because she's female, but rather because I don't like her insight or how she fits in with the rest of the people on the show. I like commentators who know their stuff, but don't act like they're better than anyone else. Most of all, I really don't like hosts who think they're funny and seem to focus more on trying to make a witty comment than actually sharing their opinions on the topic.

This is exactly right.

Taylor worked hard with BB to learn a lot and it has paid off. I think she does an excellent job.
