If we played a young QB in the game today we lose by 50 points.

and they played without Kearse and Stallworth and the refs gave us a first down on the drive to tie the game. There is no bright side to this game.

Kearse is done for the season, so that's irrelevant. And the refs didn't "give" us a first down, the Eagles committed a blatant penalty. The surprising thing was that the refs called it, since they didn't call the Eagles for anything else all game except being offsides.

The Eagles were at home, they had a ton of emotion, their gameplan worked perfectly, Bledsoe played poorly, the offensive line played poorly, McNabb had some huge pass plays -- and we still had a good chance to at least tie the game at the end. When all of those things conspire against a team, it's usually a blowout.

If you'd been following the team you'd know that Gurode sucks at shotgun snaps.

Well then he needs to be coached into doing it properly. That's no excuse for not running a formation, especially one that may allow our statue of a QB an extra second to get the pass off.

I think they might know, but it's really too late to do anything about it. We should have started developing a QB a couple of years ago if we wanted to have one ready now.

I hate to say it, but Parcells has made a mess of the QB position from the minute he got here.

Parcells made a mess of the QB situation? Do you not remember what it was before he got here? At least now we have a young QB ready to take over soon. What did we have before?

Not saying the QB situation is great, but it's 200X better then before he got here.

Good post Rack.

While none of us witnessed much to our liking today, we definitely could have won this game. One thing i did like however: unlike many of the posters on this board, our team never gave up...

Props to Barber III for following up on the last play. He damn near got there, not that it would've mattered much at that point. \\\

Props to Terry Glenn. He did his best to keep us in it. If he hadn't been interfered with, he may have scored on that pass.

Props to those of you who hung in there for the whole game without acting like little b!t@hes. We could have won it there at the end. I don't envy the Mods job in the upcoming week. Good luck to you.

That's if you assume Romo is really ready to be a GOOD starting NFL quarterback. We're not sure of that at all.

Truth is, we could have drafted any one of a number of guys in 2003-2004, or we could have tried to trade for someone or signed a free agent. We chose not to.

I disagree. What, with Kearse they would of had a pass rush? Oh wait, they ALREADY had a pass rush.

What, with Stallworth they might of hit a long TD play? Oh wait, they did that WITHOUT Stallworth.

No difference.

Kearse could have negated some of the points we did get and Stalworth may have been good for another TD or too.

I dont think it is unrealistic to think that two major contributors they didnt have could have made it a whole heck of alot worse for us.

It could have been a whole lot worse.

But at least we have HOPE that he can be the future.

What did we have before? Ryan Leaf, QC, Hutch, Steorner, etc...

I'll take today's QB situation over that of 5-6 years ago.

Rack, I'd rather YOU play quarterback than what we had 5-6 years ago.:

Some of these fans forget the QB situation 5 years ago. We won't face many defense that put pressure on us like the Eagles did. We may face a few that are close. But it's not enough to make us a 9-7 team all the sudden. When Bledsoe has time he's about as good a passer as there is in the NFL.

Good stuff. Typically, I don't like getting into injuries too much because no one cries for anyone else in this league. But certainly, injuries like those impact what they want to do. To Philly's credit, they were ready to go anyway.
