The Carpenter decision is an embarrassment

Well, if you look at the Gosselin mention I just posted, the Steelers didn't start Troy Polamalu in his first season.

You may have heard of the Steelers. Assuming your mommy let you stay up that late to watch the game, they won the Super Bowl last year. You may also have heard of Troy Polamalu. He was their first-round pick a couple of years ago. Has turned out to be a decent player, despite not starting at all in his first season (played very little, in fact). But please, tell us all about what a bust that pick was by the Steelers. Then, isn't it past your bedtime?

Don't forget about Reggie Wayne hardly seeing the field the 1st part of the season he had 3 games he did not even play in and only started in 9 and the second year he started even less 7. So it took him a while to get on the field in Indy full time. It was not until Reggie's 3rd year he was a full time starter

Not for nothing, but a #1 draft not even suiting up really is an embarrassment. I didn't expect him to start, but frak me ... not suiting up??? What's that about?

Why so many excuses gents? If the reason why Carpenter isn't playing is because we're totally stacked at LB, then why bother taking him in the first place? We have tons of question marks all over the team. Our OL is a disjointed group of nobodies. Why not sure up that position? Or how about a future replacement for TO and Terry Glenn? Why a LB who can not only NOT get on the field, but won't even dress???

That scares me.

Maybe Carpenter will turn out ok. But for the moment, I'm disappointed. Other than due to injury, I have a feeling every other top draft pick from this draft WILL be suiting up for their respective teams.

I agree with you. Sometimes reality is uncomfortable for us. It's awful early to label Carpenter a bust.....but none of us can be happy about our 1st rounder sitting at home. We're not hardly that deep of a team.
