You cannot make this stuff up.

A late 5th round pick at that, while the Cowboys 4th will be early in the round.

It's almost like Jerry tries to make bad moves at this point.

It's like an experiment to see how many bad decisions a franchise can make while still keeping their fans interest.
But you have to look at this from Jerry's point of view. There's probably some sort of cash savings he's excited about as a result of this deal, and it saves us the headache of preparing for next year's 4th round.

High-fives, all around!

Yes, in fairness the contract has to be considered.

Hopkins is making some decent coin and Mingo has this year plus two more on his rookie deal.

Still don’t think the going rate was a fourth…especially for this team that expects to find immediate impact starters on day three.
I liked him as a prospect, but that is what he is, a prospect at this point, not an impact player right now.

So...Mingo is worth more than Amari Cooper....starting to wonder if some crazed Eagles fan stuck Jerry in a well with a bucket of lotion a few years ago and this is the result.

And also makes little sense for this roster with Tolbert and Brooks here.

If they want to take a flyer on a likely draft bust, make it a defensive lineman.

Jerry likes to build from the outside in.

But hey, if you’re gonna crash the car, let’s go ahead and total it.

Jerry always pays a premium. Never gets a premium in return. Fleeced once again.

Next year's draft we'll be looking at a nice RB or DT still on the board in the 4th rd and remember Jerry's genius move to trade it for a 3rd/4th WR that can't get on the field. Sound familiar ?

He is on the level as Tolbert, question is can either take that next step?

Jerry's like that dad that takes his kid to the carnival. The kids screaming and crying to win a stuffed animal worth about .99 cents. $25 dollars later, he finally wins the teddy bear and walks away a proud papa. What a tool.

Hopkins is 32 in the last year of his contract and does nothing to move the needle for this team. Trying to compete with KC who’s currently undefeated, in a bidding war would have required much more than 5th when said and done! Again for a player who doesn’t move a needle.

Mingo is 23, 6’2 220 runs a 4.46, was the 39th pick in 23, had a descent rookie seasons (43 rec) playing on a crap team with a crap QB, despite a sophomore slump still has much more upside than any WR that will be in the 4th next draft, has two seasons developing on an NFL level, and 2 seasons left on his contract after this season! Use him like Deebo while you continue developing him. Stop crying like this is the last year there will be football. Trade was for the future, not a half a year rental on a player who doesn’t move any need this season.

I think the better example is that the Panthers traded their STARTER to move up 10 spots in the draft from the early 6th to the late 5th. They then traded their backup to the Cowboys for a 4th round pick.

Cant say this enough.

Dak, Romo, and all the QBs before not named Aikman.

The problem with the Dallas Cowboys isnt on the field. It is ABOVE IT.

Jerry wasted years of Romo because he refused to invest in OL.

Jerry wasted years of Dak on a rookie deal because he got scared of FA after the Brandon Carr deal.

This FO is never PROACTIVE. They are REACTIVE. And you cannot be successful in this day and age with that philosophy.

Building a competitive roster is utilizing, trades, FA, and the draft.

Not just one of the 3 facets of roster building.

If this team was serious. First and foremost they wouldn't have paid Dak again. They would have sat him and Todd France down and said "you are no longer part of the plans here, if you want a trade, waive your clause and we will work something out, otherwise you will sit on the bench." Then they would have had a multitude of picks to move up for a Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, etc.

Instead. They sat out of FA, acted like they were moving on from Dak, to then sign him and his WR to record setting deals which would have been the same thing in April. Difference is FA was still going on then. Jerry couldnt pretend to not be able to afford anyone if that was the case. Because he thinks we are all idiots. He thinks him and his son are the alpha and omega of the football world. Even with 30 years of evidence that they absolutely shouldn't be in charge of a burger king, let alone an NFL franchise.

Jerry at this point is quite literally trolling the fan base.

Hold on.

We all agree that we should be sellers, yet we’re trading away a valuable pick for a non-starter?

What in the actual?
