Cant say this enough.

Dak, Romo, and all the QBs before not named Aikman.

The problem with the Dallas Cowboys isnt on the field. It is ABOVE IT.

Jerry wasted years of Romo because he refused to invest in OL.

Jerry wasted years of Dak on a rookie deal because he got scared of FA after the Brandon Carr deal.

This FO is never PROACTIVE. They are REACTIVE. And you cannot be successful in this day and age with that philosophy.

Building a competitive roster is utilizing, trades, FA, and the draft.

Not just one of the 3 facets of roster building.

If this team was serious. First and foremost they wouldn't have paid Dak again. They would have sat him and Todd France down and said "you are no longer part of the plans here, if you want a trade, waive your clause and we will work something out, otherwise you will sit on the bench." Then they would have had a multitude of picks to move up for a Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, etc.

Instead. They sat out of FA, acted like they were moving on from Dak, to then sign him and his WR to record setting deals which would have been the same thing in April. Difference is FA was still going on then. Jerry couldnt pretend to not be able to afford anyone if that was the case. Because he thinks we are all idiots. He thinks him and his son are the alpha and omega of the football world. Even with 30 years of evidence that they absolutely shouldn't be in charge of a burger king, let alone an NFL franchise.

Jerry at this point is quite literally trolling the fan base.
The lack of FA spending during Dak’s rookie contract had nothing to do with the Carr contract but with the 2 seasons of dead money from Romo’s contract!

Seems nuts on the surface

I would say this.
2 parts to the cost of the player in a trade
--Contract cost now and future
--Draft picks given up and received

I haven't looked into the contracts, so no idea...but I think Hopkins came cheap

You cannot make this stuff up.

A late 5th round pick at that, while the Cowboys 4th will be early in the round.

It's almost like Jerry tries to make bad moves at this point.

It's like an experiment to see how many bad decisions a franchise can make while still keeping their fans interest.
Great post, JJ is always late to the Kmart's Blue Light sales.......................

So they had 2 years where they still could have spent?

Thank you.

We can all agree that Jerry gets taken advantage of, right?

Why doesn't someone that cares for him step in?
Look at his trade history since Jimmy left.

More ammo for those that know that Jimmy is the real reason this team won Superbowls. Jerry was just a figurehead.

Hopkins is also a free agent after the season. He wouldn't have been around after this year. They will have Mingo for 2025 and 2026. Only time will tell if this ends up being a good trade for the Cowboys. If Mingo develops into a reliable #2 or #3 WR then it was a good trade. Like you, I think a 4th was too much at this point.
That's about the same as I feel about it. Trading what is probably going to be around pick 110 for an underperforming WR who has yet to score a TD in his 1.5 years looks like a reach. The Panthers have been awful on offense the last two years and in Mingo's defense has had no QB that was effective at getting him the ball. Not defending the trade but if it works out then even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

There has to be someone in that building that cares for him outside of football.

He is getting taken advantage of on almost every move/contract that he is a part of at this point.

Nothing he does works out and is considered by basically everyone as being a bad move.

What 2 seasons Romo got hurt in 16. Dak took over in 16.
In 2017 they had 9m in cap space and 26m in dead money.
In 2018 they had 11m in cap space and 32m in dead cap.
2019 they resigned Lawrence along with 11 inside/ outside FA, including Randall Cobb, Tavon Austin and a 2yr 9m contract for Cam Fleming!

We're all just in a bad dream with this team, right?

Somebody wake us up from this nightmare.

And guys like you want to blame the quarterback for this mess. Jerry is not lying when he says he makes all the decisions. The arrogance of this owner is making me sick. You should be happy now you get to see your two favorite Cowboys quarterbacks, Rush and Lance.

Jerry is worse then Al Davis at this point.

The Panthers front office has to be laughing their butts off after pulling this trade off.

Jerry was looking for meat on the bone, but instead of steak on the bone, he settled for bologna on the bone.

Dealing with someone losing their faculties is something I have personal experience with.

Trust me. It isn't that easy.

Dak is the biggest Jerry mistake on this team.

I understand, but he is running a business, and is clearly not fit to do that.

If they care more about money than Jerry then they must realize that whatever the Cowboys are worth to that family could be doubled if Jerry wasn't in charge.

Ya all are playing the wrong game. Jerry is playing the publicity game trying to keep the Cowboys in the news. While everyone here is thinking the trade is a joke and front office sucks. We are just playing a different game and Jerry is winning his way.
