I dont want Ramsey. But thats just my educated guess.
An educated guess isnt someone they will do something as if they know what they are going to do. Its them making a guess based on evidence. Tendencies, things of that nature.
Im not stupid enough to bet actual money with a stranger over the internet. I value my money and personal information too much. However I will make a sig or avy bet. Name your terms
Ok, here's my educated guess for who the Cowboys will take at #4. Myles Jack......and here is my educated reasoning.
Let's go with RB first--------- I just don't think we value RB at 4 with the D looking like it did last year. If we made a trade and received a stud, All Pro LB, that would be a completely different story; but with the depth of RB this year, Zeke is not worth the risk of the pick. A trade down would have to take place, and I'm not willing to gamble on a trade down.
QB----------- If we're rolling with Romo, we are not taking QB at 4. The Aaron Rodgers theory is Null. Rodgers was 24th in the draft and thats a far different headline in a newspaper than a top 5 pick. Alex Smith started, Sanchez started, Winston and Mariota started, Jamarcus Russell started, RG3 started and Andrew Luck started. Peyton Manning couldn't stand to let a #1 QB sit behind him; the headlines would've been too much and it wouldn't have been smart to keep him anyway. If you take a top 5 QB, you better be prepared to start him Day 1.
Dline ------------- with the addition of Thornton, I think that takes us out of all Dline in the first round and let me explain why. Getting another Pass Rusher would only be worth the #4 pick to hide the dismal interior. With the addition of Thornton, I think we could role with a Lawrence, Thornton, Crawford, Russell combo until Gregory gets back. Not saying Dline isn't a need, just not one at #4. A FA addition like Adrian Clayborne would make it look a little better. Buckner is an option. Bosa is better served as a LDE, IMO, making him a 3rd LDE option with Lawrence and Russell.
Safety --------------Ramsey is my pick IF we needed a Safety, but there has not been any moves in the Dallas FO to show me that its a need. No serious articles has led me to believe that Church or Wilcox's jobs are in jeopardy, and unless we need a backup for Byron Jones, I don't see us going S. Now if one of Church or Wilcox gets dropped in the next week or two, my opinion of who we pick will change. That, and I think SD would be crazy not to take Ramsey at #3 seeing as its a need with Weddle out the door. BTW, the talk of the Weddle pick up leads me to believe even more that Dallas wants to go a different direction from Safety in the draft.
Why Jack? ------------- I think LB is the mostly likely position at #4. Sean Lee is the only entrenched LB; Rolando is not a long term solution as reflected by his new contract; Wilber is resigned with a contract that looks more depth and Special Teams. They were very open to say they wanted Ryan Shazier 2 years ago and their only real addition since then was Damien Wilson in the 4th last year; oh and Hitchens in the 4th, too. Ro I think was signed after the draft 2 years ago, too. None of which seem both long term and reliable. If Jack checks out, he's the pick. That's my educated guess.
