Chris Johnson has the advantage of playing in a pure zone blocking scheme, and he doesn't have Marion Barber on his team.

I'll give him credit, he's really good.

I've watched him.

He gets a lot of carries for loss. He's a pure homerun hitter.

I still think Felix Jones is the better pure, all around running back.

The Titans did, too. They wanted to draft Felix Jones.

There's 2 key difference.

1 They were drafted back to back to back
2 I constantly get crap about my bashing of Felix.

This is vindication and it's sweet. So the same way I took yall shots take mine and accept them. It's all good nature ribbing anyways.

Wow, really ballsy to be patting yourself on the back after you rip others for something similar.

So, to quote your "brilliance".....piss off.

You might want to let Felix Jones play more and see what he can do with more opportunities before you claim "victory".

If Felix Jones stays healthy and gets the ball, you are going to be eating some tasty crow.

I don't have much "rue" factor for Mendenhall. He's growing a reputation as a fumble, and almost had his third red-zone fumble of the season last night. He does look like a good player overall though.

If we missed out on someone, it's clearly Chris Johnson. Dude is special, scheme be damned.

Still, I'm "happy" with Felix. It's not like we passed on two good backs and got Sherman Williams. We got a good player ourselves.

Mendenhall...feh, I don't care about the yardage totals, they are just a byproduct of more carries. Chris Johnson though... another story. Look, lets be honest, he wasn't on anyone's radar with our picks. Everyone thought Tennessee was crazy for picking him, but he is a beast, an absolute beast. He does it all, can score from anywhere on the field and has stayed healthy.

I love Felix but CJ is a star.

Actually, I was screaming for Johnson and one of the few to do so. Having said that, I am happy Felix is here because like many have said, CJ wouldn't have the same opportunities here. It's a different mentality for some reason. Felix is a great teamate in a roleplayer position with tremendous production on limited opportunities. I'm not so sure that CJ would be.

I would never pick Felix in front of Mendenhall -- EVER! Mendenhall is a football player, period. Felix is a delicate flower who must be handled gently.

Comparing Choice to Mendenhall is easy: Choice is smaller, slower, and weaker in comparison (according to the NFL combine). I like the kid, but he is not nearly as talented as Mendenhall.

The pre draft scuttlebutt was he was a lazy whiner. If I remember that was one of several things that landed him in the dog house in Pitt. Now they have no choice but to use him because of injury.

Mendenhall, 3 starts, 2 fumbles in the red zone, almost a 3rd.

Should have been his 3rd. That ball was out. Don't know how the refs missed that in the replay.

You are not looking at the stats correctly. Runs up the middle are not the only runs between the tackles. He has 9 runs for 65(7.2 avg) yards to the right, which is between the right guard and the right tackle. He has 9 runs for 104(11.6) yards to the left, which is between the left guard and the left tackle. The 1.9 yard average you are talking about is for runs between the guards only.

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew he had no idea what the hell he was talking about. What type of fan goes out of their way to distort the facts to make a player from another team appear better? Why go to all the trouble of purposely misleading everyone with his own made up version of the facts? He must be a very lonely 13 year old. Only a child would behave in that manner. Feel bad for the little tyke.

As far as Felix and Mendenhall go, unlike last season, this year they're both relatively healthy. The biggest difference is that FElix is part of a 3-man rotation and Mendenhall is part of a 2-man rotation, so he's gonna get more carries.

Chris Johnson, hard to deny that he's a beast. He has that same 1 carry homerun ability. And Titans use him in the passing game decently (far more than Felix is used, though its something I'd like to see added)

Its not even really a 2 man rotation for Pittsburgh anymore. Parker didnt register a single carry or reception last night, and is completely healthy.

We shall see over the long haul. Jury is still out.
Mendanhall definitely looks like a Michael Turner to me. Doesn't impress me that much but has been productive this year.
CJ is hard to argue that he wasn't the best pick.
I just hope Felix doesn't try and bulk up too much. He looks kind of big to me now and is definitely struggling with the burst wearing the brace. His quickness and burst are special. Felix isn't the home run hitter CJ is though - doesn't have the speed.
