We all remember how many players we lost last season, Armstrong, Pollard, Tyler Biadz, etc etc, and we didn't replace them. History repeats itself, we lose D-law, J Lew, Gholston etc, are we going to complain this year about those players not being replaced, or was it time for them to go???? Please give your thoughts.

The plan is to replace those players thru the draft and also the ones we lost and will lose this year.

We will draft at least 12 new starters. 6 all pros alone.

Just watch and behold in deep submission.

GO JONESES!

It's unfair to leave that responsibility on these rookies! There's going to be a learning curve that some may need more time to develop etc! We're placing too much hope on rookies, but I guess that's what you have to do when paying so much money to players on your roster

NO.

The complain last year is none were replaced. The Cowboys basically sat out FA. More roster holes were created than could be filled in the draft.
I don't expect the team to replace every loss in free agency. Sometimes you have a year where rookie contracts for starters end, and then you're just scheduled to get worse.

But I do expect them to fill big holes with *something*. And they didn't at RB and DT. It's not like it costs half the cap to bring in a decent RB. But they didn't.

In my eyes it was so bad I thought they were sabotaging the team to push Dak to accept a trade. That's the only sense I could make of it.

But no. They apparently sabotaged the team *unwittingly* then went on to extend Dak anyway.

Clown Team.

That was a joke.

We will never be able to find so many starters.
In fact we havent been able to find more then one day-one starter thru the draft in the last recent years.

And remember: Our roster wasnt filled with elite players all over the field. Which would make it harder to find day-one starters.
Mazi or Guyton for instance had to replace players that were medicore backups at best. They werent able to.
Smith wasnt able to beat out an injured and hurting Tyron and since then is banned to a LG spot.

Our desasterous drafts of the last years doesnt give one hope that this is a franchise who is able to build a good team thru the draft.

I’ve been a huge Cowboys fan my entire life. Last year I knew we weren’t going to have a good season with the holes we didn’t fill and a new DC. Somehow Jerry the moron thought we would compete. This year I expected the same and we are getting more of it. I honestly care so much less than I ever have. It’s sad but I expect another season like last year. I hope I’m wrong. But to answer your question…I’m too worn out to have emotions about it. It’s been 30+ years!

I don't think this years player losses are as bad as last years. Gholston was a rotational piece and has been replaced. DLaw is tough to replace in the run game but he missed 75% of last season anyways. I cant say if he'll be missed or not. JLew is a big loss. But you can't fall apart because your team lost a nickel corner. Pretty much a JAG for JAG offseason. Once again, a home run draft is our only hope.

Armstrong was replaced by Kneeland, and will be DLaws replacement this year. Fowler brought back to replace Armstrong loss from last year. Plus Turner may help.

We got 2 RB's than can be as good as Pollard and Dowdle, if the OL in fixed and is better.
Beebe related Biadz.
Gholtson, he is replaceable in. the draft, but we also got Thomas, can he be as good. Possibly.

And yes it was time for a change from these players.

The only one that hurts, for now, is Lewis. But can Elam replace him. However, the return of Diggs is that issue. Does Elam take his spot. Thy need CB's, in the draft.

So all is not as bad as what is seems. And take into account all the injuries last season.
Yes fans will complain, regardless, that is what many do. We all do to a degree about something. How about them thoughts?

We have to let players go every year, how else is Stephen going to get his precious comp picks?

Those are good thoughts well said ,I figure we are about the same in roster depth with players added and players lost.Dallas will miss Jourdan Lewis and a healthy Demarcus Lawrence .The draft needs to be an A plus with these positions DT WR CB DE LB G RB .

Not only compete.. Jerry was shocked they weren't in the SB.

Was anyone else shocked?

The Jones clan couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery.

This team puts itself in that position every year and it never happens.

Then it’s ‘oh well,’ and on to the next year with no consideration for change whatsoever.

They intentionally did nothing last year to set McCarthy up to fail so they could start over with a new and younger coaching staff this year. Now they are starting to do something. They are bringing in players to fight it out in camp to make the team.
