JJ is simply impulsive. Lance and Mingo trades are great recent examples, but the Roy Williams and Joey Galloway trades also show how he gets single minded in his approach and overpays when he thinks he “has to have” a particular player.
We regularly get fleeced when we trade for a guy, because we telegraph our intentions and they drive the price up.
We don’t get value when we try and trade guys because they can’t help but open their fat mouths to the media and that inevitably drives the price down because teams can simply wait out the process knowing that eventually we will just cut the guy.
Basically— our trade game is just another weak-sauce element to JJ’s overall GM fail
