Why stop at Larry Allen? We don't even have an Erik Williams, Mark Tuinei, Kevin Gogan, or (gulp) Eddie Murray. Gotta make do with what ya have.

I can find 3 or 4 people in the entire NFL who fit that description

The Colts have 3. Manning, Harrison, Saturday. Each All Pros at their position.

I challenge any of you to name a player on this team of the caliber of Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Jay Novacek, Larry Allen (in his prime), Charles Haley, or Darren Woodson. That is a championship team. This team in no way resembles that team. I'm sorry.

KK ill play.

According to your paradigm that the stats are they key then Aikman and Irvin dont meet the criteria as they were NEVER near the top of the league statistically.

Charles Haley didnt rack up tons of sacks either as it was Tolbert that was getting the double digit #'s feasting off of Haleys double teams.

Witten is on pace to completely annihilate Novaceks receiving numbers.

Woodson and Allen both got the recognition because we won aton and Madden pimping them.

Me personally Im a Cowboys fan and Im glad that my team one Im sorry that statistically this years individuals doesnt match your desires.

Overall we are top 5 in scoring and yardage on offense and top 5 in yardage and turnovers on defense. Ill take that over individual performance every time.

Yeah, they reach the Pro Bowl each year. But how many Super Bowls has it gotten them?

This game is about more than having players with top-notch stats. Have you checked out the team stats? Isn't Dallas in or near the top 10 on offense and defense?

And if you're looking for individual stats: Romo is the league's second-highest rated passer; Barber, I believe, leads the conference in rushing touchdowns; Owens is about 2nd in touchdown receptions in the conference.

OK. I'll admit that Tony Romo and Marion Barber have breathed some life into this corpse of a team, but I'm afraid it is too little too late. The Cowboys have a 6-4 record and are a slightly above average team. Two weeks ago, they were beat by the Washington Commanders, for Pete's sake. Four weeks ago they were DOMINATED by the New York Giants. They have no true playmakers on defense. They play with little passion. Parcells will not get them to the top. Its going to take a younger guy who can instill greater passion into these guys. I am sick and tired of BORING and MEDIOCRE, which is what the Cowboys have been for far too long. I would not be at all surprised to see them get beaten by the pathetic Buccaneers this Thanksgiving. They have won three games in a row only one time since week 8 of the 2003 season. A rare occurence indeed.

You want to know who on this team is going to make the Pro Bowl? NOBODY! Unless Roy or TO make it purely on reputation. There are no guys on this team playing like a Pro-Bowler, so why should they make it?

Here are some stats of the Cowboy's Stars for you:
Julius (boring) Jones - 9th in rushing yards
Vanderjunk - 24th in scoring
Marion (rare bright spot) Barber - 4th in TD's
TO - 15th in receiving yards
Depressingcus Ware - 19th in sacks
We do not have a player among the top 30 in tackles this season.

Not that you care but:

Romo 100.0 passer rating, good for #2 (behind Manning).

Owens 7 TD's, tied for #2 among WR's.

By that standard, the Patriots were "boring" when they were winning 3 out of 4 Superbowls. How many Hall of Famers were on those teams? Maybe two or three, tops, and one of those is a kicker.

And they just got beat by our "slightly above average team" so what's your point?

The more i think about it the more I think this whole premise is stupid.

This Cowboys TEAM is elite at scoring points on offense and forcing turnovers on defense. Top 5.

These to me and im sure many will agree are the most exciting thing a team can do.

This yahoo is whining because we dont have the 'starpower' or hype. Its stupid.

Winning is never boring, losing is exasperating.

I agree 100%. And four years of Parcells coming in at 31-27 has me totally expasperated. A 6-4 record in this his fourth season has me totally exasperated. I couldn't have said it better myself.

RECAP:

We have the 2nd rated passer in the NFL (who is 3-1 as a starter), a WR and RB among the top of the league at their positions with TD's, and we just beat the previously UNDEFEATED Colts, but we are too boring for the OP.

I will repeat myself. We are top 5 in both scoring on offense and creating turnovers on defense and we jsut beat the undeniably best team in the league.

You find that boring because your insecure about whats going to happen? I mean anticipation is a ***** but cmon.

Listen, I'm glad you guys can have your hope restored much quicker than I. I've just decided that Parcells is not going to get it done. I hope he proves me wrong. As I said at the beginning of this thread, ROMO is the indeed the silver lining in the cloud. Without his coming out, we'd already be dead in the water. But this defense does not excite me. I'm sorry - they just don't. We'll probably win 4 more regular season games and end up 10-6. We'll win one playoff game. Yawn. Mediocre.
