Our pass rush is elite but our run defense isn’t. They left out our run defense grade which wouldn’t be very good.
We have the best defense in football.
They’re running the ball on us simply because our pass rush is so dangerous. It’s not that we are bad stopping the run. It’s just that that’s what teams are doing to us. Yes we could be betterOur pass rush is elite but our run defense isn’t. Funny how they left out our run defense which ranks 24th.
What is the run defense ranking?
OK but it would be nice if they could fix the run D.Passing defense correlates much more strongly with winning than rushing defense. Having a top 3 passing defense statistically almost guarantees you’ll make it to at least the divisional round.
Clark Wilson, will make a differenceOK but it would be nice if they could fix the run D.
We have the best pass rush in football. We rank 10th in total defense.

Yes, but despite the rush yards given up, we are still ranked 3rd in scoring (1 extra point away from being in 2nd place). That means a whole lot more than being 10th in rushing.
We bend but don’t break however, we did give up 29 points to Chicago two weeks ago. Our run defense must improve if we’re going to get over the hump. We had a great opportunity to beat Philly a few weeks ago, but we couldn’t stop their running attack late in the fourth quarter. They imposed their will on us.
Not saying we don't have room to improve, but excluding the Chi game, we have given up an average of 15 points a game...even including Chi we are giving up 17 points a game. I wouldn't base our overall run defense off of that one game. Yes we need to improve...but as long as we are not giving up pts, I will take it (not withstanding giving up the field position battle)
If that one dimension keeps our offense off the field and scores points, it's all they need. The pass D is elite, the run D certainly less so.
I do think we are a victim of our own success and teams run on us simply because they see that as the keys to success. The Bears game was a great example of a team knowing they had to run on us despite the points differential. Almost gave us the W.
I'm not overly concerned by our run D as we have the ability to make the opposition 1 dimensional right now. Can't remember seeing a Dallas D dictate to an opponent how they need to play us for a long time.
It's an advantage, no doubt.
Thing is, every other team saw what Chicago did, so if we don't fix it, it's just going to get worse as teams build on what the Bears did.Not saying we don't have room to improve, but excluding the Chi game, we have given up an average of 15 points a game...even including Chi we are giving up 17 points a game.
