The Cowboys have been playing the dirty birds over 60 years. In those nearly 7 decades, the two teams have played each other 128 times with the Cowboys holding the edge all time with a 73-55 advantage.

Here’s a look at the rivalry by decade. The records here include playoff games.
  • 1960s: 10-9 (Eagles)
  • 1970s: 17-3 (Cowboys)
  • 1980s: 10-10 (Tie)
  • 1990s: 14-8 (Cowboys)
  • 2000-2009: 13-8 (Eagles)
  • 2010-19: 11-9 (Cowboys)
  • 2020-present: 4-2 (Cowboys)
The two teams have met 4 times in the playoffs and the Cowboys lead that 3-1.

Here is a comparison of overall playoff wins of both teams by decade:
  • 1960s: Cowboys (1), eagles (1)
  • 1970s: Cowboys (14), eagles (1)
  • 1980s: Cowboys (5), eagles (2)
  • 1990s: Cowboys (12) eagles (2)
  • 2000-09: Cowboys (1) eagles (10)
  • 2010-19: Cowboys (2) eagles (4)
  • 2020- present: Cowboys (1) eagles (2)
Since 2000, the eagles have won 16 playoff games, won 3 conference championship games and 1 SB.
Since 2000, the Cowboys have won 4 wild card games.

Funny how the Eagles playoff game I remember the most was the loss. I suppose it's because it was a conference championship game.

Both quarterbacks were just awful. The Cowboys turned the ball over on three fumbles, two by Tony Dorsett.

The Cowboys defense could not stop Wilbert Montgomery, who almost had 200 yards rushing by himself. The Eagles defense shut out the Cowboys in the 2nd half.

Herm Edwards was a DB for the Eagles at the time.

This was the first of three consecutive, bitter losses in NFC championship games. The other two were to teh 49es in the :Catch" game and then to Joe Gibbs and the Washington Watchamacalits

Before the Eagles won their first and only Super Bowl in 2017, there was this joke:

It was reported that the Philadelphia Eagles home office was broken into.

Two men stole the entire contents of their Super Bowl Trophy Room.

Police are still looking for two men carrying a large green and white carpet.

Just think in 28 years the Eagles fans on here will be whining they haven't won since 2017. And have not been to the SB since 2022. We have that to look forward to. :lmao2:

You mean 3 SB wins in 4 years included, 4 straight NFCCG's.
Most fans seem to want to just sweep those under the carpet like it never happened. A lot of fans here weren’t around for those years. Some have never even seen the Cowboys win a divisional round playoff game. Those are the ones who are the most frustrated.

This year we start our dominance over the Eagles for the rest of the decade.
Starting with a whipping of them Sunday.

Cowboys 42 Eagles 17
The Eagles will start their first series strongly. Hoping they receive the first kick of the game...then, they will be looking around trying to figure out what was happening.

Very good comparison and the recent success, instead of saying the Eagles, says Andy Reid.

We remember them and call them the Jimmy Johnson years.
Jimmy never had to deal with free agency and the salary cap when he built those great teams. It’s free agency and the salary cap that tore those teams apart. Jimmy had a deal with a salary cap and free agency when he went to Miami and didn’t have a lot of success. Managing a salary, cap and players allowed to test for agency has made it more difficult. It’s hard to keep teams together these days.
