Offense scored 34, that should be enough.

That's the general statement defending the offense. No one bothers looking at the whole picture of what happened. The offense comes roaring out the gate and then decides to put it in neutral. Then Jacksonville takes the lead and here comes Dak and the offense needing to scramble. Once they take the lead do they remove their heads out of their rear and actually get a 1st down and run out the clock? Naw...who wants that, it's boring, let's toss it up for a low % play and stop the clock and help the Jags preserve a timeout. This game was as much on the offense as it was on the defense.

My big thing is the mystery of the missing pass rush these last few games.
It seemed like QB pressure/sacks was the one thing that you could hang your hat on and say good things about this team this year.
Now that it's gone AND the secondary is playing poorly AND the run defense is still...
Well...
Yeah it ain't shaping up to be too much defensive support down this stretch run.

The defense played poorly, that said:
- They weren't on the field for the last 6. If you say "the defense gave up 40", you aren't being accurate or even rational.
- They got a fumble stop late in the 4th that should have iced it.
- They got a 3 and out in overtime that should have won it
- They gave the offense the ball around the Jags 40, which turned into a 3 and out fieldgoal instead of a TD
- One of the TD's was again on a short field after an interception

This game was lost on both sides of the ball. The Dallas offense had multiple opportunities set up by the defense to win the game and they either got stopped or turned the ball over.

Parcells used to be very big into time management, field position, ball control, etc. Today is a beautiful example of why his methods win games even if its not always pretty. Dallas had this game in the bag and the just handed it away.

yeah not sure why the fact that our supposed ''TOP" defense which used to allow 14-15-16 points a game has regressed all year and just as Dak came back and the offense took off. For some reason everyone is giving the defense a pass these last few weeks, not sure what. If they could have stopped the Jags or just got one damn sack at the end of regulation Cowboys win this game.
