The Cowboys have never been that great this season... this is just a bad league

It was sad that 2 weeks ago people could seriously say that the Cowboys were perhaps the best in the NFC. And you know what is even worse? That it was true.

The Cowboys have never been that good this year - they've got a ton of flaws. The problem is the league as a whole continue to year after year show that the good teams aren't that good, it's just that the quality of the league as a whole is very poor.

Indy, who for 9 weeks were the best team in the league got beat by Houston yesterday. Chicago nearly got beat by Detroit yesterday and Tampa Bay put up 31 the week before. Teams like Jacksonville are pretty decent but can't stay consistent. Teams like Atlanta, New York, and Dallas are so bad that they don't deserve to make the playoffs yet at least 1 of them will for sure and all of them can actually challenge the best teams in the NFC. Does anyone believe that Philly is that good of a team? I don't. I just think they beat a mediocre team in a mediocre league and I wouldn't surprised if they lost last week.

Now you may not agree with me, but you look at last year and the Steelers sneaking into the playoffs and then winning 4 straight along with the Super Bowl and Big Ben's 22.0 rating.

Yes, I miss the dynasties of yesteryear, but most of all I miss the quality football that produced. Team liks the 49ers, Cowboys, and Packers were GOOD in the early 1990s. Those games were interesting and challenging. Now it is just blah.

Well, this is what you get when you go for "parity". A watered down league with watered down games and watered down playoffs.

And yes, I too miss the dynasties.

I hope you're happy tags.

out of curiosity..would you miss the dynasties if you didnt root for a former dynasty?
Oh and remember..there are plenty of good teams this year...just not in the nfc...although the nfc has two...

parity, "watered down teams and games". Gives the league a certain amount of control. Think about it. What does parity give you? close games!!! close games gives the NFL the power to influence games through the officiating. Just look at last years super bowl. Then with the NFL network, the league can get on TV and with the help of a NFL "official" validate their bad calls. That way they can nip all the conspiracy theories in the bud.

I agree that the league is watered down. That is why a team like the Steelers, a 6th seed Wildcard team, can win the Superbowl like they did last year.

That NEVER would have happened in the old days (actually I think it may have happened only once in 30 years).
