Does anyone doubt that, if there wasn't a cap, that margin would be much smaller?

As a fan all I care about is my team winning. I couldn't give two squats about how much the owner of my team makes.

Until the fans start changing the way Jerry thinks, this team won't be a consistent winner. That's the original posters intention. He is making money he thinks that proves he is doing it right.

You have to quit giving the man money. He cares more about making money than the team. He cared more about his ego and being right than what's best for the team. The sooner fans realize that the better off the team will be.

Its clear he loves the stadium and all that it represents but...

I think he does get embarassed about losing. But i think he will feel more embarassed about finally stepping down as GM.

So its a case of really wanting to win but just not knowing how best to do it and then add in the past mistakes with drafting and salary cap management and its been an uphill battle. But im sure he thinks we are just about to turn the corner.

I don't think losing embarrasses Jerry at all. He said it didn't.

so long as you continue to post about them and participate in the community, you are propping up the brand and visibility of the team.

I'm pretty sure anyone reading and posting here is not someone who needs more brand exposure.

This team has living people who will invest in this team due to past success. It would take another 15-20 years of what we've seen the last 17 yrs for fans to stop showing up.

The only thing is parents often influence their kids so there are some young fans who never saw the Cowboys win anything but they are diehard and will love the team forever. What we don't have is that bandwagon fan in this generation, the starry eyed kid who loves those Cowboys because they're always winning. However, because the Cowboys are always on TV no matter what, there will always be fans who get attached due to the familiarity, like the Cubs and Braves who boasts their own networks and have fans everywhere. Imagine if Jerry was allowed his own network that exclusively showed Cowboys games as part of the basic cable package. I don't think he'd have any trouble finding advertisers.

I guess it's an immature reaction on my part, but I tossed my Cowboys mini helmet in the trash last night, I bought it over 20 years ago. Symbolic gesture, I guess. But I've had it with the Jones family and their brand of "entertainment, NFL style." I know what Parcells was talking about now when he cleaned out his office at VR.

I think the bandwagon fan groupies are on another ride right now. I just keep looking at where Oakland is and I see us going that route if this pattern continues. It says alot when SD and Cincy struggle to put fans in the stands in the midst of meaningful games with playoff implications and we can sell out in a heart best. We do have the most loyal fans today, but I think that'll change in time as people's patience grow thin. No matter the outcome, I'm sticking around good or bad.

I do not doubt that at all. But since there is a cap It makes management and coaching even more important.

You can win Superbowls with Barry Switzer when you have a crazy roster but you can't win jack crap with a good roster and Barry.

We need the right people in charge, not guys who spend millions on man coverage corners and then bring in Monte Kiffin to coach them.

He couldn't believe that going into next year.

This was our year to do something and we pretty much blew it. I doubt very seriously our roster is improved on opening day next year.

On the ticket they are saying that the Cowboys spent 250 million and made 550 million making a 300 million dollar profit.

That is part of the problem and most like the #1 reason Jerry won't step down. We keep supporting mediocrity with our money and until we stop the Cowboys will just carry on with business as normal.

Also, just think, he could've probably had Sean Payton if he would've made him a ridiculous offer but he felt it was crazy to pay that much for a coach so we're still stuck with Garrett because he is a bargain I guess.

Maybe he couldn't afford him.

All he has to do is take a two year medical hiatus. Then when we start to win again he could have a miraculous recovery and come back to captain the ship.
Hail Jerrie!!!!!!!!

Well, that is sure going to make a mark on Jerry's financial gain. lol

Congratulations to Jerry and the Cowboys. That is quite a rate of return. I'm jealous. Good for him.

The point im making is it kind of goes hand in hand.

Winning isn't Jerry's #1 priority and the only time it has been since the glory days was when he wanted to get that stadium built.

Now that the stadium is built and he is banking off of it he has no reason to quit his hobby of being the GM of the Cowboys which in return makes us mediocre.

Where is the grim reaper when you need him? ;)

I haven't spent a dime on this team since the 44 - 6 drubbing the Eagles put on us under Wade. I am doing my part.

But you still post here and probably watch the games on tv.

So what are you really doing?
